We (NewCath) beat Bourbon County in the regular season final that year. When I saw that they won the state title 4 weeks later...I wondered what happened to 2A, lol.

If RPI was a fair barometer for strength of schedule...MAYBE. Teams game the system. I mean, Boyle beats the #17 team in the country after driving 6 hours to do it....and they would have gotten more points for beating Lexington Catholic. That's ridiculous. It's a seriously flawed system, and it sucks. The fact that KHSAA has done NOTHING to fix it just proves that they are a collection of morons.

You can’t dislike the KHSAA strongly enough. Doubling down on RPI is ridiculous. Get rid of it.

Seriously, who would want to coach at Cooper after this? The administration...the parents....the coaches....it's a dumpster fire.

As a former teammate of Barties, I'd love it for him to be able to coach his son. Jeff is as good as it gets.

There is zero chance Lickert can take that job. He's principal at Withrow. That's why he stepped down from NewCath. On top of that, his son is starting up at Highlands this year.

I think it solidifies the sinking ship feeling that the administration seems hell bent on building.

I seem to remember an incredibly intelligent man calling this in 2015 when he said that they were on the precipice of the greatest run in 9th Region History. There's a thread on here somewhere.

It's only 32 per class as it is. Would anyone winning in 3A or 6A not feel like their state championship was lesser since the best competition wasn't there? It'd think so. I agree on points 1 and 2.

I don’t see Newport taking care of the ball well enough to beat Ryle. The last two games have not been impressive. I hope I’m wrong.

At this point, who would coach at Cooper? Between the administration and parents taking to social media, it isn’t worth the money. On the flip side, I have heard stories of coaches there that lead me to side with a couple of the parents. I just don’t see the benefit of going to social media to air grievances.

It's across multiple sports and infects both sexes. It's crazy.

The KHSAA is completely incompetent. It’s time for a change, starting at the top.
