  1. You can’t be serious. It was was only a half because of how bad the first half was, Eddie had to give up on throwing the ball and try Agee. I think he’ll be pretty good the next couple years but is clearly not ready now, he needs more development. He overthrew nearly every receiver in that first half by 5 yards plus. Holtz has never looked like that. Pitzer looked good against Boone…. But it was Boone. It may not matter anyway, Pitzer looked to have gotten his 2nd concussion Friday night of the season. I hope he recovers quickly but I wouldn’t put him out there again if we want to have a shot at winning the next two games.
  2. It was a good call. The kid came across, nose guard I believe, then the CCH snapper moved. I was sitting near the 30 on that side of the field.
  3. CCH has got to go back to Holtz at QB. I’ll take the bubble screens I like to complain about over what I saw tonight any day of the week. With a passing game CCH is a much better team….. just awful offense tonight. Both teams deserved the L tonight.
  4. I hope Pitzer continues to improve, however, if you look at the stats, his first game @ Cooper he had under 70 yards passing and an INT. Would have had same result with Holtz at QB. One could argue would have won the game without needing OT with Holtz in because he is a legit threat to run the ball. I commented to someone after the game that if Eddie wasn't going to throw the ball more why even make the switch? Next game for him was Boone, which was better for sure, but I don't put too much into it based on the oppenent. Of his 160 yards passing, 60 of them were on a badly thrown ball that was tipped by Mason and was then cought on the run by another WR for a TD. He did have some nice passes that were more downfield for sure, which was really nice to see. Definite optimism moving forward. That's all we've really seen from Pitzer though, so I think it makes sense to say the jury is still out. It's not a knock at all on him, just realty based on what the team has done with him so far. I hope we continue to see improvement in him(I think we will) and in Eddie's decision to throw more intermediate to deeper routes as we approach the playoffs.
  5. CCH beat Dixie by 22. And CCH Lost to BHS by 20. Maybe just matchup issues in certain games but it is odd to compare.
  6. I can only remember 1 as well. Lost to CCH by 7, though FD had more overall talent.
  7. I would say jury is still out. No improvement in the first two games he played in... however, that wasn't unexpected given he is a Soph. Better against Boone, though some underthrown passes were still cought by the WR's(one on a tipped ball). I think he will be much better the next two years with more experience, though I'm hoping the development speeds up and he hits his stride as the playoffs are starting!
  8. I don't think CCH would. What message needs to be sent to HHS at this point? A win is all you need... and to come out healthy.
  9. Bad decision for the (powers that be) to allow this. I believe it's the only state in the country to do this. Sometimes things are unfair, life happens, I would have told my son to move on with life and not spend an extra year in highschool/highschool sports, UNLESS there was some significant academic or other issue, that I would have held them back for regardless of this new rule. I'm curious if any parents who chose to have their child repeat, would have made the same decision had KY not adopted this rule? Because that option was always available, you just had to deal with the impact on high school eligability.
  10. No jealousy here either. More embarrassment for them. I know of several BHS parents who chose not to have kids repeat for football and are embarrassed by how many kids chose to do so on the team and that BHS seems to be encouraging it.
  11. Didn’t tell me that, just said how many overall. Maybe it’s just one per the above post.
  12. Friend of mine with kid on the freshman team says several on the team that reclassified.
  13. And, it’s freshman football. So much changes by the time their at the varsity level it’s silly to make such a big deal about it.
  14. I don’t think the 18 number of repeats is close to accurate, however it is I believe by far the most of any NKY program. I do believe the vaunted beechwood freshman have several repeats as well. Again it is what it is, but you’d think there wouldn’t be so much chest thumping about the Freshman team knowing the advantage they have with the redshirts. Whatever it takes to win I guess!
  15. I wouldn't argue that at all.... Just don't think we can say Dixie is the best team Beechwood has played. A couple other people on here mentioned Dixie play calling. I can confirm that it was really strange in the game against CCH as well. Not that it would have changed the outcome, but there are definitely more than a few head scratchers from coach Brossart.
  16. Come on…. CCH crushed Dixie 28-6, would have been 28-0 if not for a late 4th quarter KO return. Maybe Beechwood just had a down game or didn’t match up as well with Dixie as other teams, but no need to talk up Dixie as such a great team just because Beechwood didn’t blow them out.
  17. I was glad to see Eddie try Pitzer, gotta try something. I don't know that I saw even 1 true drop, there were a couple where kids were diving/jumping for off target throws and didn't make the catch, but don't really consider those drops. Offense could make it easier on Pitzer and throw some intermediate routes to the TE's. Seems like 95% of our throws are either bubble screens or 30/40 yards down the field and into double/triple coverage while there are open receivers underneath. I'd like to see them really let Pitzer open it up against Boone to get comfortable. I think we can win all our games remaining outside Ryle as is, but need to complete more than 5 passes a game to make a playoff run. Always good to get a win! Even if it's ugly.
  18. If you've been paying attention, Eddie runs the same 3- 4 defense with the DE's playing more like DT's than DE's. This defends depends on having outstanding linebackers, which I think Sullivan and Jones are, but it also requires them to cover sideline to sideline, which, they are not quick enough to do. That isn't a knock on them at all, but is a demonstration of changing up your scheme to fit the players you have on the field. The defense worked great when you have Mayer and Felix at LB for two year, the players now have different strengths but are expected to fit into the same scheme.
  19. They encourage multiple sports until it conflicts with football, even early summer workouts. Which is a big conflict for kids who play competitive summer baseball or basketball.
  20. Since the first year he arrived at CCH. Had multiple kids play for him. How bout you?
  21. To some extent yes. Without going into to much detail, I think it all boils down to being locked into specific offensive and defensivne schemes evey year regardless of the differences in talent and ability of a given team. For example, the defense CCH runs just does not even come close to maximizing the talent/skills of this years team. My opinion is that a great coach will change the scheme of his offense or defense based on the talent of each team he has, Eddie, however will run the same thing regardless every year and expect the kids to fit into it.
  22. I don’t think he or the staff is as great as most think to be honest. Not saying he’s bad by any stretch, but best in the state? No way. And it is showing this year, not just because of losing, but because of getting out coached in several games. He refuses to make adjustments, team has been sloppy with tons of mistakes and penalties most weeks, and not to mention the quitting on the kids in the 4th quarter last week. We have two TE over 6’2” and have targeted them maybe 10 times combined all year, yet keep running bubble screens 10 times per game and get very little out of it. Opposing D’s know what we’re doing. We’ve got the players to throw the ball to, we just don’t call the plays to get it to them or when we rarely do, the balls are off target. Maybe the unprecedented talent from the last 5 years skewed the thinking on how great of a coach he is?
