I explained in another thread Belfry's situation they're not losing boys, they're losing females. Almost at a 3-1 ratio, since 2010, Belfry had two boy large freshman classes 11/12 and 12/13, that boosted their boys enrollment by 50+. I'd be highly surprised if they moved down.

Classification is determined by the # of Boys in the school and believe it's averaged out over 4 years. Corbin and CAL will definitely jump, be interesting to see Lex. Cath and Boyle. I'll say Belfry stays in 3A. You can view Enrollment Reports on the KHSAA website.

Well they should, Paris has a pretty weak schedule, if they can beat Holy Cross by two touchdowns then they might be taken a little more serisous. If not they're a pretender.

I'd say the most local to Paris would be Lex Herald Leader, but Josh Moore had Paris at 9th. The next closest I think is Maysville? So someone randomly might of put them at 1 for giggles.

I've heard the middle school soccer gets more time on the turf then the Football team. And they don't have the luxury of going off campus to practice.

Belfry had 8 less boys then CAL enrolled during the 16/17 season. I wouldn't call that "siginifcant". Since 10/11 CAL has grown from 307 boys to 334 as of 16/17. Belfry in the same time has gone from 351 in 10/11 , then in 11/12 had a BOOM of 60 boys enroll to make it 411, the next year they had 394 boys enrolled. Compare this to CAL at the time and Belfry had 100+ more boys enrolled. So when they were doing averages for the classifications those two BOOM years for Belfry, really put them over the top. Currently, Belfry boys wise is about where it was in the early millennium, yet the girls population has dropped drastically. At the same time Belfry had a BOOM of boys the female population dropped. In the early part of the decade there were 366 girls enrolled at Belfry, as of last year there are 286, that's a drop of 80 since 2010, yet the boys have only dropped 25, if you don't consider those BOOM years.

I think this is how it should be done, with the 6 classes. If I was a Bowling Green or a Belfry I'd want better competition. I think Highlands is the only power that plays up a class? It's not like these programs couldn't compete a class or two above. Kentucky HS Football should be sponsered by Aquafina it's so watered down.

That's why I said "usually" , it would of made more sense to be named the Mustangs if they were going for a "wild" intimidating mascot. Bronco's are manufactured anymore usually for rodeo, Mustangs are a true wild horse.

So they went with a term that usually associates with a stallion with out any....makes sense.

I'll take Douglass by a TD, Douglass is still a 6A school with alot of good athletes, they're basically a consolidated school

Didn't Paris lose their top 2 Offensive producers? Wells and Cunningham? Doesn't seem like they had the best offense last year. KHSAA has them only rushing for over 1300 yards as a team last year. It'll be easy to key on Eric Johnson, who was a great Compliment to Wells last year. I'll take Paris in this one though by 2 TD's

Try are earned though, It's why we see all of the state championship at #1. You judge that by what's returning, tradition, etc...The majority of the Top 5 are the Top 5 in every poll. The Top 10 Class ranking in KY Football is relative to everyone gets a trophy in my opinion. It made more sense with 4 Classes.

I'd say 5A is the most solid class come playoffs. 1A and 6A are about the same since everyone makes it. Third place in the Paintsville,Raceland, Fairview district would be a 1 seed in the Nicholas, Paris, Bracken Berea district "most" years. 1A has 30 teams, 3 teams were winless last year, 1 one team had one win(Fulton City vs Fulton County) and those could of been predicted before the season. Just because you're in the Top 10 doesn't mean you're a quality team. You have a 33 percent chance of being a Top 10 team in 1A just by being in 1A. That's the highest out of any division. If Bracken, Nicholas, Paris played Paintsville/Hazard/Raceland this Friday it would be a running clock.

Yeah you kind of proved my point...If Top 5 teams play each other, its not going to be a running clock. When Top 5 teams play teams outside, it more than likely is going to be a blow out or a running clock. The Regional Title Game Scores were 48-12, 42-7, 21-14, 42-19 One RC, One game a point away from RC In the Second round scores were 57-7, 43-36, 56-6, 44-0, 48-26, 49-14 56-31, 49-6 4 RC's and one game a point a way from a RC. First round 62-6, 49-14, 49-16,42-6, 53-16, 38-12, 56-6, 47-21, 34-22, 59-7, 69-6,55-24, 69-14, 55-3 Eight Running Clocks, 3 Games with a 1-4points till Running Clock. So in the first three rounds of 1A playoffs you only had 3-4 competitive games out 26...

I don't think it makes much sense to have a Top 10 in 1A. The top 5-6 teams in 1A would put a running clock on the rest of 1A.

Saw a tweet there was some extra curricular activities in their scrimmage with Paris. Hopefully Mason Co. gets it turned around this year, seem to be on the right track.

GRC has won 9 football games since 2012, Douglass has one less win then GRC does in the past 2 years. I'd say this was a moral victory for GRC.
