2A #5 Murray at 4A Calloway County Predictions/Updates
Bud_Kilmer replied to Bac2369's topic in KY Football (High School)
Murray should take solid control of this game and win comfortably. -
As bad as many seem to think we are at rebounding, we are top ten in the nation in that respect and out-rebounded the top rebounding team in the nation (UNC). As far as defense is concerned, improvement is there to be made, but when you play UCLA and UNC with our styles of play and number of possessions and the high shooting percentages that is what you are gonna get.

Current sophomores to look out for next season
Bud_Kilmer replied to Jo-Jo13's topic in KY Football (High School)
There is some great sophomore talent in the Owensboro area right now. Catholic QB Will Warren and RB Vonn Williams are exceptional players as first year starters. The Daviess County WR Marquel Tinsley leads the state in recieving yards and TD's if im not mistaken, over 1300 yards and 20 TD's. He has size and those are eye popping numbers for a sophomore. -
Is Fulton County not playing in the playoffs?

I would devolve both schools and create a Fulton Central High School. -
Bowling Green/McCracken County Predictions
Bud_Kilmer replied to LVGambla32's topic in KY Football (High School)
I think the only way Mccracken gets consistently competitive with 6A outside of west ky is if they eventually start depleting tilghman which I dont think will happen. Mccracken has to grow its number of high quality athletes if they want to platoon. Right now they have enough to produce a solid offense. They need about 5-10 more to produce the same kind of defense. -
McCracken County 55 Muhlenberg County 20

The problem is even if they beat PRP in the first round, there sits Male in the 2nd. -
Bowling Green/McCracken County Predictions
Bud_Kilmer replied to LVGambla32's topic in KY Football (High School)
This will get ugly, ive heard rumors of McCracken trying to pay out the contract and drop this game to get ready for playoffs. I dont think its true but they did move senior night to last night instead of next week. -
1. Trinity 2. Bowling Green 3. St. X 4. Male 5. Belfry 6. Lafayette 7. Scott County 8. Simon Kenton

Lafayette or Scott County hard to over look. Need to do this for 1-3 A and 4-6 A.

It is a young program but in my eyes they have a ways to go. They really havent even established superiority in their own town yet. Tilghman has beaten them a few times and 2A Mayfield has beaten them most years. They are light years away from the Louisville big 3 and Bowling Green for that matter. Must start to improve defensively, they platoon with their best athletes on O and put the best of the rest on defense especially the secondary.

Cant water it down with 6+ Mr. Footballs but I like the poy idea. IMO the award should go to the best senior in the state who had the best season, while keeping career and team success in mind.
-
Would love to say and should be saying Christian County, but right now that is not the case at all.
-
Mayfield, Belfry, Bowling Green and Trinity are near locks in my eyes. 1A and 4A may be a little more open. Male is capable of beating Trinity.

All tell you are exactly right. Nothing more predictable than Ky state playoffs in almost every class.

McCracken County/Henderson County Predictions
Bud_Kilmer replied to a topic in KY Football (High School)
Beat down. McCracken is the best team in a rather poor district. I think this district will have every team lose in the first round of the playoffs against the Louisville super district. McCracken is the only team with a chance and it will be very tough for them. -

They can and they will in my opinion. They have great line play and are well coached. The 4A wky playoffs will be very competitive And I would love to see fs run the table to bowling green.

Muhlenburgh County at Henderson County Predictions
Bud_Kilmer replied to cols's topic in KY Football (High School)
This game will be close with some sloppy weather on the way. Should be a toss up. Muhlenberg has the best player on the field in Hunter Combs and I think he will be the difference. Mustangs 34 Colonels 28. -
Best way to change playoff system?
Bud_Kilmer replied to Cometman2's topic in KY Football (High School)
ATL my language is probably a little strong there. I am just in favor in a tougher and more competitive playoff format than exist now.
