  1. It is and it isn't. Tuition students are very important to $chools. Most schools take them. Holmes takes them, the Kenton County schools take them, Ludlow takes them. I could go on and on. Boone County doesn't take them, but that is due to the growth issue in the county. You don't just get into a school because you want to, you have to be a decent student and a good citizen. Good athletes who are not good students are just not worth the risk. State testing is to important.
  2. Ok, so they lost 2 starters and Beechwood lost 2 starters. Beechwood beat Calvary twice and Calvary is the favorite based on this. Is there an explanation for this way of thinking/voting?
  3. I just cannot agree with the , "the kids will learn anywhere, if they want to learn" I don't want to call out any schools or kids, but I know of kids who changed schools to attend better academic schools and struggled in their new environment. I seem to recall a certain transfer to Beechwood who was a straight A student at his former school and struggled to stay eligible after his transfer. He did eventually succeed in the classroom after a lot of hard work. I also recall an A/B student from a school last year who couldn't score high enough to be eligible for his Div. I scholarship. I also know of kids at BHS and HHS who ranked in the halfway part of their class and scored 25+ on their ACT. These schools will continue to receive good student athletes based on this alone. Schools and Boosters need to hold academics first if they want to build a better athletic program.:thumb:
  4. Who did Calvary lose from last years team?
  5. ...and your point is...You have superior academic schools with superior football programs and you are going to take issue with those schools because people want to send their kids to school there. I don't get it!!! Every school can do this. No school district is not permitted to build a good football or any athletic program. Maybe the answer is to make your school safer and more academically successful. You know "Build it and they will come":scared:
  6. Ronnie Kenning, Senior - Would have started, has had a string of very bad luck! Don't know all the details!
  7. I am SO with you on this!!!:dancingpa
  8. It's the 2nd game of the season! "Season-saving" a little over the top don't you think! Good Job Colonels!
  9. Add me to this LIST! Unless you have a lot more info than what is posted on this BB you don't know what you are talking about!
  10. Taylor Snyder leaving Beechwood is a sad thing for the Tigers. I really do not know if this was in the works before the Volleyball/Soccer, mishandled/misspoken,friendship breaker, losing a great coach incident. Taylor's father (RIP) was a NCC grad and I could see him making a decision like this! Good Luck Taylor, Beechwood sure will miss you and your family after Nate graduates.
  11. Let's not say "Soccer" let's say "Soccer Moms" of either gender.
  12. You really do not know what you are talking about!! Beechwoods reputation and education prowess were in place well before the present BOE and Superintendent were in place. My guess is it will still be in place well after this BOE is replaced and hopefully the Superintendent. The Board does hire him, right.:thumb:
  13. Not say!! but I can say it was very childish (but not surprising) on the part of the $$$$$ parents. If only someone in the Beechwood Administration would have come to Matt's defense!!
  14. So who is the new volleyball coach? Hopefully they didn't get desperate enough to hire a former coach who is already on the staff!!
  15. Sorry that's Beechwood!!!
  16. It's called $$$$$ and Fear! The parents who made the accusations against Matt have lots of $$$$ and the threat of the almighty Law Suits against the school. It should be noted that these parent"s children are only elementary students, but then again Beechwood has a very weak BOE look at the superintendent they hired.
  17. I would have had a hard time not resigning under the circumstances. Such is the difficulties of dealing with the Beechwood Elite.
  18. What does Mike Swauger do now?
  19. Even if things were bad in Ashland, I doubt if Bellevue would hold no interest for Coach Biggs. A major step backwards!!!
  20. Is this in any way because of soccer? I hope Matt reconsiders! A lot of Beechwood loyalty has been lost in the past 5 years (teachers and coaches)with more to come!
