  1. It would be improbable that either Beechwood player would the NKAC DIII award seeing that last year a number of those coaches didn't even include Hall in their top 10. The coaches association award is a better gauge of the actually POY DII seeing that the pettiness of the DIII coaches doesn't come into play. Don't get me wrong Steven Love was a very deserving recipient, but leaving Hall off the your top 10, very childish.
  2. We all know McGovney is an 8th grader but how many 8th graders played for Beechwood and who are they?
  3. Walton and Gallatin are in the 8th and why don't you tell us how you really feel about Beechwood.
  4. So a lot is being said on this thread about NKY middle school basketball. Can someone give the run down on the different leagues. Whose in what league, who has the best teams, what are the standings, who are some of the better players, who are the coaches etc. etc. I am interested and read this thread a lot. There is times I am a little confused. Thanks
  5. My sources tell me Nick Hall and Chas Hyde. Bryan had trouble with Beechwoods size and quickness.
  6. I guess that all depends if you are in the Gym or out of the gym! Actually I think it is pretty smart on Beechwoods part ! Their kids their gym:lol:
  7. ...and why shouldn't they? It's just as important to them to have there fans there as it is to CCH to have their fans there. It is Beechwood's Home game you know! :thumb::lol:
  8. Heard tonight all tickets are already gone!
  9. If you have been over to Beechwood's football field on any given evening watching Gary sit in his lawn chair and 3 brothers kicking and shagging balls is quite a sight. Joey, Max and Chad
  10. I didn't say Oak Hills was a Prep School:madman:
  11. Prep School...Yeh? Oak Hill..maybe? Just a question..I know nothing.
  12. Need more details! Buzzer would have stopped play. Basket should not have counted and whomever had possession would have in bounded the ball at the point the ball was at the buzzer. The clock operator is considered an official as is the home scorekeeper.
  13. Suppose to... it could be a date to remember...snow. What could be a better back drop to a memorable date.:dancingpa
  14. I think he would really laugh at that and he doesn't laugh!!!:lol:
  15. Do you have a hang-over this January 1st 2009? I don't, guess that is why I am the only one posting this morning!!
  16. Since there is a thread like this on Highlands and Beechwood beat them for the NKY Freshman Championship maybe we need to do this for the Tigers. The 1A State Champions lost a lot of seniors. Who from this class will help fill the losses by left by them.
  17. To many parents think that winning at all cost is the final judgment. These are the same parents who are normally coaching from the stands. A lot of these parents are also teaching the wrong things at home. A good middle school or anything below JV/Varsity coach spends a lot of times talking to his players on the bench and involves all of them in time outs. When you have a coach who just sits and lets them play or is more involved with "helping" the officials, that is not a coach interested in developing your kid he is more interested in his own "stats" (W-L).
  18. I think most coaches try to develop their players in practice when the situation is ideal. When a team is playing 40/50 games because of the lack of practice time, he should play a lot more players. Winning is over-rated at this level. Teaching the game is much more important. You know what they say about putting your eggs all in one basket. A lot of kids at this age want to play basketball, they watch NCAA games and high school games and want to be apart of it. Then the real world sets in, they develop other or more important interests. Sometimes genetics play a great part and the kid with all the knowledge and experience is no longer the physical basketball specimen he once was. Lo and behold that puwnie little kid who sat at the end of the bench learning everything has grown into a healthy young man and he has no experience. High School coaches see these kids every year, actually they see more of these kids than the ones you are pumping up and bragging about on here.
