If discipline is the issue for the TEAM as a whole, at some point that has to fall on ultimately the HC, but also all the coaches. I played for a coach (Wagner was on his staff) who was stubborn, set in his ways, lacking any creativity etc. Every team knew what we were going to do and when, but he would never stand for the constant dumb, cheap penalties from lack of self discipline. And us as players still had enough respect for our superior to not take matters into our own hands bc we knew there WOULD be consequences come Saturday morning, Monday afternoon at the latest. To the best of my knowledge the inner city to non-inner city ratio was pretty equal to today.

I should say, I’m on the outside looking in, my point was “kids these days” don’t respect authority. Look how the NFL boys act towards Officials and their coaches and you have the trickle down effect. If you’re the HC and the kids do not care about what you’re trying to do then you’re hands are tied. I believe that was what my friends were saying. Short of benching or kicking guys off the team what else can you do? If your the HC you’d have to believe that at some point they’d listen to you.

Talking with a few alumni tonight, a few things were mentioned but one constant was lack of respect for the Head Coach. I know personal fouls were a big thorn in their side this year and not caring if your HC cared would create that issue. I don’t know any where near the ins and outs of this situation but looking hind sight I certainly see lack of discipline ie respect glaringly

Appears to me that KyJoe and Mexitucky were believers and forseers. What do all the people who were chuckling at them behind their keyboards have to say? Crickets I would imagine. I dont know how they knew but they did and credit should be given.

Finally saw the drop/fumble at the end. Seeing live I thought there were two options 1)Incomplete or 2)ground caused fumble in the endzone. However I only have seen the one angle from the KHSAA broadcast and cant go frame by frame. Itd be nice to have a view from the Boyle Co sideline.

Let’s give Coach Terry Brown and that D some love. According to the radio they didn’t allow more than 17 points in a game all season. Awesome

Talked to the father of a starting OLinemen last night and said CovCath will roll. I’ve been saying that every week all year and his response was always “we will see”. Last night he nodded his head and said “I agree”. I just don’t see MS keeping it close unless they can do 3 yards a carry and keep away

While I agree it should’ve been a interception at worst incomplete, you can’t take one frame and use it as proof.

What kind of message does it send to the players when they read that their HC, their leader is already building excuses into the narrative in case of a loss? I went to a private school who got their heads beat in (wouldve been running clocks if around) regularly by Beechwood and Highlands and our coach (dinosaur that he was) didnt blame anyone but us. Be a leader not a whiner

The 2006 NCC v Danville game. All Danville had to do was get one first down towards the end and its over, NewCath out of TOs. QB fumble the center exchange, NewCath hops on it and the rest is history. I remeber watching ICN6 highlights, a Lexington station interviewed a severely upset Danville player and my heart broke when he said quote "All I know is Im not going to play football no more". Kid was was about as close to crying as possible and was being interviewed. Side note, didnt Danville lose in 1998 on a fluke play as well?

A questions Ive had since I was in highschool and Boyle was starting there run under Smith and am just to lazy to look up. Is it usual for the County school to be in the same city as another public school? If you live in Danville do you have to go to school there or can you choose Boyle Co? How far apart are the schools?

I known De Lasalles run was in impressive but did they have a state playoff to go along with? I thought I read they only had sectional championships. Could be wrong
