Mayfield 46 McCracken County 41
You must be a young one. Or have lived under a rock for a lot of years. In the 70's 80's & 90's Heath was a solid program. Throw in a state championship in 86 & you say Heath was a weak program. If you look into it most parents sent their kids to lone oak when the idea of consolidation came up. Get your facts straight before you make an absurd comment like that. During my time at Heath in the mid & late 80's we were contenders every year.

Mayfield/McCracken County Updates
Gas tank is running low. Does Mayfield have a reserve?

Mayfield/McCracken County Updates
Mayfield is for real. Well coached & know how to execute. They may bend but don't break. 2 huge stops on 4th &1 in the red zone of Mayfield. Very impressive Mayfield.only 18 pts from a running clock. They were only 11 away early in the second. Game not over yet. I've heard Bright hurt his shoulder. With the way Arnett is dicing up the Mustangs secondary they won't need him. Mayfield has it all. Will their gas tank hold on? That'll be the question going into the second half. Mayfield will receive.

McCracken County vs. Mayfield predictions
Last year Mayfield was up by 2 possessions in the fourth qtr. IMO it looked like Mayfield ran out of gas. No disrespect to Mayfield but as mentioned earlier Mayfield is the icon of football in W KY. They have been as long as I've been around. So much respect to the program of Mayfield. With that being said Mayfield is NOT the typical 2A school. They are as good as anyone in the state regardless of classification. To even keep it close with Mayfield gives a team a feeling of success. Mayfield has lost 2 games in two years. Both being at the hands of McCracken. It has proven to only make Mayfield better come November because in my opinion Mayfield/McCracken are the best programs West of Bowling Green. I read that Mayfield is only giving up 17 ppg. McCracken is averaging 56 ppg. Something has to give. I think the biggest factor will be McCracken's defense & their ability to substitute more than Mayfield is capable of. I still say McCracken will prevail 35-21. It's going to be a heck of a high school game to see. When McCracken was chanting"We want Mayfield" it was the pep club. They seen Mayfield Coach Morris in the stands & just wanted to let him know it. Lol. It was all in good humor. Good luck to Mayfield & McCracken. No injuries & good sportsmanship. See you Friday!!!

McCracken County vs. Mayfield predictions
One advantage for McCracken is their #'s. Last year you could see Mayfield was spent with a lot of players playing both ways. McCracken doesn't play both ways with the exception of situational players with Q. Jones & Daniel. McCracken's ability to sub more will wear down Mayfield. They're tough hard nosed players, but McCracken is capable of sustaining drives that I believe will be the x factor if they get the lead & tire the Mayfield defense.

McCracken County vs. Mayfield predictions
Last year McCracken had 8 fumbles lost. The majority of those were unforced. They stayed in the game on some big plays & Mayfield penalties. This will once again be a good one. I'm sure I'll catch a lot of heat from this prediction but I'm going with McCracken 35-21.

McCracken County 72 Madisonville 7
When you have 10 lost fumbles it's hard to keep points from being scored on you. Varsity has yet to set foot on the field in the second half this season. Mayfield game will shed some light on the Mustangs season.

McCracken County vs. Madisonville North Hopkins
McCracken's defense is their strength this season. Yeah their offense can put points up on the board but their defense is tough. Their first two games were against weaker opponents but their starting defense is yet to give up a point. Their starters haven't set foot on the field in the second half yet. Madisonville is probably the best offensive team they've played yet & could challenge the Mustang defense a bit more than they're used to. I don't see a running clock in this one. McCracken has scored 96 points this season of those 96 points scored 83 were in the first half outscoring their opponents 83-0 in the first half. I'll take McCracken at home 49-21

Mayfield vs. Paducah Tilghman
Mayfield is the team to beat in W KY. This rivalry has gone on forever & more than none has been a competitive game regardless of their respective records coming in. PT is better than what they showed against McCracken. Mayfield is Mayfield. Mayfield will run away with this one & could easily put a running clock on the Tornado. It'll be close for the 1st qtr. But Mayfield will take advantage of mistakes by PT & win by 30+. Mayfield 49-- Tilghman 13

Marshall County at Mayfield Predictions
Marshall actually dropped down to 5A in 2015. How I have no clue. Their enrollment didn't decline but figured when they can't win against small local schools why even play the bigger ones. Now they'd rather play Ballard Memorial & the Fulton's. If I'm not mistaken even Ballard beat them last year.

Paducah Tilghman/Central Hardin predictions
PT has no offensive or defensive line. Their dB's played McCracken 10 yards off. ???? They just seemed lost on defense. Made McCracken look much better than they really are. I'm a Mustang fan & the game was fun to watch as a fan. But I have much respect for Barber & believe after this season he'll be okay. PT will take some beatings this year but with their district strength I believe they'll still be hosting a playoff game in Nov.

6A #10 McCracken County at 3A #9 Paducah Tilghman
You were right. 41-6 sounds much better. The tornado looked more like a weak water spout.

6A #10 McCracken County at 3A #9 Paducah Tilghman
Being 6A or 3A has nothing to do with this game. PT always acts as if this game doesn't mean anything to them but always seem to play better in this game than any other game in the season. In the short three year series between the city & county the home team has yet to win one. PT with a new but very respected head coach won't help them this season. McCracken has a very good receiving Corp & I believe that is enough to give the Mustangs the advantage this year. McCracken wins 35-12.

Male at Central Hardin Predictions
I have to admit I didn't expect CH to win vs McCracken. It just shows you can't go off of who beat who by whatever during the season. PT beat McCracken in week 1 by 14. CH beat PT by 20+. CH beat NH by 7, McCracken beat NH by 38. Turnovers play a big part in these losses. The BG vs McCracken game was this way as well. Given BG is by far better than McCracken, but only finished with 40 more yards than McCracken & won by 24 points. McCracken had 5 turnovers that game too. McCracken probably should've won against CH, but turnovers & penalties killed em. Inside the 10 twice & fumbled. Not to discredit CH, it was a well deserved win. They may not win vs Male, but from what I seen from them they know how to tackle. Their offense is not that good, & Male will own them on D. CH's defense could keep it close for a while though. I'll say Male 35-7.

McCracken vs. Central Hardin
QB was not in rhythm with his receivers, & when he was they couldn't catch it. Ugly game all around.

6A Playoff Predictions
No doubt as always the winner will come from the Louisville power bracket. Male, Trinity, X..... I'll have to say Trinity. It's the playoffs.
-
Which Playoff Class is the most competitive?
If I'm not mistaken, if Trinity & Male meet one another it'll be before the semi finals. Only one of those can make it to the finals.

Bowling Green 38 McCracken County 14
Bowling Green was by far the better team. It could have been a running clock in the 3rd qtr but BG let off the gas & kept it on the ground using the clock for 7+ minute drive to open the second half. Was surprised they kept their starters in the whole game. With 5 turnovers & one of those a pick 6, McCracken still managed 293 yards to BG's 333. Again, BG is just on another level. McCracken won't see another team of this caliber til the 4th round of the playoffs given they make it that far. I believe they'll match up pretty well with Central Hardin.
