Too many mistakes and missed opportunities for the Knights.

Both teams have made a lot of mistakes. They have a lot to clean up for the second half.

Wow. Did not expect this at all.

In order to have any chance of beating a team the caliber of Male, you have to protect the football and take advantage of all of your scoring chances. Lafayette just couldn't do that tonight.

Lafayette has had some really good chances so far. Turnovers have been a killer for them.

Lexington Catholic is missing a few players who are still competing in football tomorrow.

Hmm. Good win for Cooper in the early season.

Lexington Catholic has never had a big team. Size has always been something that they lack both defensively and offensively, but they make up for it in technique. The coaching staff does an excellent job of teaching the fundamentals to close the gap that the Knights may lack physically. For as long as I've been a student and fan of the team back in the mid-2000s to now, no matter how much they've been mismatched they've always found a way to compete in games they have no business being in on paper. I don't know if they win on Sunday, but they'll compete and that's all I ask of this group. Find a way.

When you have a record of success like Trinity, for example, kids want to play for the program. Winning is as good of an advertisement as any. When you add a great coaching staff and excellent facilities, you breed a successful program. I think if you look at the top programs in the state of Kentucky, you'll find that those three factors are at play.

Did not know that the Knights had that many guys returning on D. I thought the cupboard would be pretty bare next year on defense. I knew the offense would be reloading in the backfield and at receiver. Good to know the D will still be in good hands with veterans back in the secondary.

I don't know much about either team, but I have to pull for NCC in this one.

Male wins big. Just hope Lafayette avoids the running clock.

This will be a shootout. Whoever has the ball last wins.

Congrats to Lafayette. Way to represent Lexington.
