  1. Sadly, that is a world we live in.
  2. I dont see a running clock either. I do however, think the Rams win comfortably. Similar to what the Portsmouth West game looked like. Close for a quarter or two, then our size and speed upfront defensively starts to wear their OL down, making things difficult for their RB and QB. They are smaller and arent very quick upfront. Rams win and set up a rematch to avenge the emberassing loss at Paintsville a few weeks ago.
  3. That call is freaking over the top. BUT, it was called the first time, precident set. Follow rules.
  4. I think Ashland holds Bourbon in check and gets up by 3 or 4 scores, then Bourbon starts slinging the ball around and plays catch up, then Baker breaks off one or two more to ice the game late. Ashland 48 BC 21
  5. Brossart has some decent skill guys. They kind of remind me of Lawrence County, minus the Daltons. BB's RB reminds me a bit of Mosely and they have a pretty good QB. But, they will lack the physicality upfront to control the Rams and while their skill guys may give us some trouble early on, but I expect us to wear them down towards the 3rd quarter and our Def front 7 starte to cause problems... Milustangs keep it close for a half... Rams 38 Mustangs 18
  6. I believe it would make Raceland the EKC champs. Have won it in the last with wins over the same teams. Idk though, the losses to Fairview and Paintsville may change that. Idk.
  7. Same for me as well, BUT WAIT JUST A MINUTE. Pikeville and believe it or Raceland/Paris/Fairview/Hazard could manage to pull some massive turnarounds and or upsets. Raceland: If they play like they did at Russell, limit the silly penalties, they are back in my discussion for contenders, a round 2 match up with Paintsville stands in the way of that if they can put together another solid performance against Brossart. -Fairview: the win over Raceland has that team believing and they will be a totally different team to deal with in the post season. -Hazard: has been extremely banged up but have started filling thise holes left by said injuries. -Pikeville: a mutch better team than they were when they oost to Paintsville early in the season. -Paris: May very well be better than I thought. All in all, my gut tells me its goina be as the quotesays. But, i am not so certain that there wont be some cinderella magic this post season on one side of the bracket, hell maybe both!
  8. I agree 430%. Lol. This team never showed any signs of doubt that they would win this game. Thats the attitude I expected to see all year.
  9. This victory could be a season changer for the Rams. Even though our pass defense, was again suspect and we got popped for 200+ yards and 3 TDs from McKee, but, we didnt give up the big play, got alot of pressure on McKee and held Conley to 59 yards rushing. So happy for the program and community, but more importantly for the guys that were on the field last night. They desperately needed this win to build up some confidence going into the playoffs. When we headed into over time, I thought, "No way we live there with a win. With everything that is on the line, Senior Night, On Ivan's field, Russell needs the win to seal the #1 seed..." Then our defense happened, then it happened again, and again, and again. So glad and proud to see that fire and determination back in the boys again. Who knows what happens from here on out for the Rams, but if that team in orange and black takes the field every week, I feel like we can hang with anyone in the class and have a chance to win. As for Russell, reading alot of statements and the tables have seemingly turned. This loss sucks for them I know, I hate it for them (but not too much lol/jk), but they have a good team, solid defense, a really nice QB, and a play maker in Conley. They should rebound and pick up a solid win over Pike Central. Both of these squads will have tall orders, should they see the second round of the playoffs. Good luck to the Devils in the post season.
  10. Question: Does a win for Raceland change any or all of these things? 1. Raceland will likely exit after the 1st or 2nd round of the playoffs. 2. Raceland was completely and 100% over-hyped and just isnt that good of a team this year. 3. The 2015 Ram Football season was a complete and total disaster. Imo, a win can completely change this teams regular season AND post season outlook. BUT, a win, imo does NOT show that this edition of the Rams weren't over hyped. The only thing that can do that is winning the region, imo.
  11. Id say alot of the changes being made are "mountains out of mole hills" statementels really. A few new sets maybe or a different package possibly, but I cant immagine much being changed in the offense, maybe under center some. But that in itself, after you've been doing nothing but the gun, could throw things into a mad house. Defensively, changes can be made a bit easier because defensive schemes change through out a game any way. All in all, I will be shocked to see much of a change on offense.
  12. If things are changing offensively, I hope its the freaking wishbone/pro that we used to run. I think our team is better suited for that. That offense has a great play action passing package and you can still spread people out with it. With what our passing game has been up to this point, you can load the box and play man against us, defensively. No real threat of us going deep downfield and no real threat to run the jet sweep. Just line em up and run it down there throats, imo.
  13. Seems a little late in the year to install a completely new system, but hell, maybe its what this team needs. Something to make the game interesting and fun to the boys again. Hopefully it helps to light a spark.
  14. This team had a learning curve at several positions along with the cosching staff figuring things out as well. That, is where our problems were in the first half of the season. The back forty of the schedule presented us with what we have seen, a lack of desire.
  15. And what reality is that, oh great and majestic Man of the Comet? Your going to end up on th cover of Tollin' Magazine when it's all said and done.
  16. Have to agree here. Far too many times, coaches at the HS level arent given enough time. Chris Mullins at GC is a prime example. Greenup Co went through something like 6 or 7 coaches after Maynard left. They finally settled in with Mullins and you see how it is paying off. Its an extremely difficult situation to rebuild a program. But all it takes is time once you find the right fit. I think they will do that with Champlin. If they dont it's their loss. Bc I think he can get the job done given the time. The JV team shows alot of promise.
  17. My god. Do you have such a vendetta against all things Raceland that you cant just stop? You cant even let someone take YOUR POINT and go a step further to prove YOUR POINT. YOUR POINT was that we struggled with Phelps. To say that would be saying that we atleast neutralized him at some point, which we didnt. Paintsville kicked our teeth in, Phelps had his way, we didnt block well, didnt tackle well, didnt run well, didnt throw well. Let them score too much, we scored too little. Idk how else myself or anyone can say it bud. I guess I could go on to say that if this Raceland team isnt very good, what does it say about the West Carter Comets? I could go along my way and state that Brown had a 60 yard TD run and still only finished with 54 yards rushing or that they had around 70 yards passing, including a 50 yard busted play where our defenders got tied up with each other. Or how this very bad Raceland team held the Comets, Greenup County, Portsmouth West, to NEGATIVE yardage in the second half of those games? Fact of the matter is Raceland has seemingly emploded since about week 5 or 6. But a majority of us Raceland Freaks have admitted to this. You just keep trying to cash the same friggin check over and over, but it just continues to bounce. Let it go Elsa.
  18. We didnt struggle with anything. We just flat oaid down defensively. Ive never seen anything like what I watched last night. Paintsville took advantage of it, but we are merely a shell of the team we were at Valley and not even close to who we were against Lawrence County or Portsmouth West. Couple that with Paintsville being legit and its a perfect storm for what went on. I m just hoping we can get to taking things one game at a time and finish the season on the highest note possibe and not 5-6. Which right now seems like the most logical possibility.
  19. Bud you are grasping at straws at this point. If Fairview had accomplished what they accomplished AND it all held up in the books, not done it the way they did, you'd have an argument. I really feel sorry for the Alex Roys, Devon Tuners, Chris Brewers, and Bradley Jones type kids at Fairview. Hard working, tough nosed kids, get their accomplishments tarnished and tainted over the choices of the adults who lead them. Fact of the matter is, each and every Raceland poster on here has done nothing but state that this team has went way down hill, underachieved, shown a consistent lack of leadership, and wishy washy effort all season. I guess in order to truly say that you are unhappy with your teams results in a season is to go creep on threads and completely lose all interest in posting about the team you support. But thats just one Orange Glasses, Orange Kool-Aide Drinking, Orange Bleeding Ram Fan's opinion. Carry on...
  20. I am at a complete loss for words. Been a long time since I have seen a Ram team just lay down like this. Something has got to change or give, from the top on down.
  21. I agree. For a team with 15 seniors, there is absolutely no leadership.
