  1. I'm looking forward to following this one. Two good teams, two underrated quarterbacks. Last year was a great low scoring battle that wasn't decided until the final snap. Madison Central appears to have the upper hand coming in, but NL showed what it's capable of when they played Corbin almost even for three quarters. I think they can give the Indians a good scrap.
  2. North Laurel Nation's YouTube account should stream this one. I'll embed the stream when it goes live tomorrow. https://youtube.com/@northlaurelnation?si=a4SZBwRF2J9tFGpX
  3. Chaz Tutt? He's 6'3"/225 and has an offer from Ball State. Really good looking player on film. This is from last week vs. Eastern: 15d7740a_480.mp4
  4. I'm liking BG's threads this week more than last. ๐ŸŸฃ๐ŸŸก ๐Ÿ”—: Source
  5. ๐Ÿ‰ (2-1) vs. ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ป (3-0) ๐Ÿ—ž๏ธ | Fighting for respect, unbeaten and unranked LaRue County welcomes Green County to Hodgenville. The Hawks returned all but four seniors from last season. They've run roughshod over the competition so far, including a running clock beatdown of Elizabethtown last week. The Dragons were slain by West Jessamine in Week 1, but have bounced back with consecutive wins. Last year's game ended in a 36-35 win for the Dragons, who won in spite of themselves after committing five turnovers. โœ๏ธ ๐Ÿ“– | The recent series history trends Green County's way, with the Dragons taking eight of the last nine from the Hawks.
  6. The Scotties snuffed this guy out last year, holding him to just 12 yards on seven carries. He's coming in hot this week. ๐Ÿ”ฅ ๐Ÿ”—: Source
  7. C vs. ๐Ÿดโ€โ˜ ๏ธ Corbin leads the all-time series 8-3. They've met nine times in the last twelve years. It's a game both sides benefit from, and with the relatively close proximity, I don't see a reason to end the series anytime soon. Hopefully the last decade is the beginning of what could blossom into a great rivalry.
  8. Malachi Brown vs. Brady Hull will be worth the price of admission. Last year's game was a battle, with Pulaski's brutes moving the ball effectively on the ground and propelling the Maroons to victory. This year looks like another coin flip, but I'm siding with the Hounds at home. I think their team speed wins out this time.
  9. The optics suggest a comfortable 2-3 score win for South. But as I said above, these two have a way of subverting our expectations. Bowling Green doesn't look or feel ready for this, but if they're going to get up for any game on the schedule, it's this one. I'm picking the Spartans, but hoping the Purples rally the troops and fight this battle with every competitive fiber in their bodies.
  10. I say this every year, but this is the best rivalry in the state at the moment. They're like two prize fighters trading knockdowns. These two typify the old "throw out the records" clichรฉ more than any other I can think of. They zig when you're expecting a zag. The stakes aren't quite what they used to be, but this is a game of great consequence. I hold this tug of war in such high regard that one of its chapters made my "Game of the Century" list. A lot has changed in two years, but they'll get back to those heights, hopefully sooner rather than later.
  11. Pikeville is like a honey badger... small in size, but completely fearless. They'll poke anything, including EKY's wounded grizzly bear. Pikeville wins a grueling, physical, low scoring game, similar to last week's JC/Belfry tussle.
  12. Ganaway being out makes this way more interesting. Carothers is a huge +1 for the Aces. I think that dynamic evens things out a bit. However, I think Owensboro's supporting cast has more guys that can step up and play starring roles. I'll take the Devils in a nip and tuck battle.
  13. PT has to come down from that unique high only a rivalry win can produce. Maybe their heads were still in the clouds last year. MNH was tough at the line of scrimmage last season and Kirk LaGrange was a menace for the Maroons against PT. I don't know what they've got this season in regards to line play and having an anchor in the middle of the defense like LaGrange. All I know is, they score in bunches and haven't been met with much resistance yet. The Tornado won't be caught off guard, because they remember a year ago MNH will put up a fight, but I think Tilghman will be ready this time.
  14. I don't understand why Lawrence County doesn't give Gray Derifield the ball every play. I mean, he's averaging 92 yards per carry. It just makes sense. ๐Ÿคท
  15. ๐Ÿ“ฐ Headlines ๐Ÿ—ž๏ธ โ€ข The week's biggest development went down in 'Title Town', with Seneca Driver being 86'd in Boyle County's win over LexCath. The ejection will cost him a primetime game against Highlands. โ€ข There was no shelter from the storm as Scott County's lightning bolt โšก struck repeatedly. The Cardinals unleashed Timmy Emongo at the height of his powers and aimed him directly at a hapless Bowling Green defense as he amassed 325 yards from scrimmage (204 rushing/121 receiving) and five combined touchdowns. โ€ข A highly anticipated quarterback duel unfolded in Owensboro with Dre'Mail Carothers outgunning Max Johnson. Carothers continued his torrid start to the season - specifics below - while Johnson acquitted himself well with 323 yards of total offense and two touchdown passes. Apollo doesn't lack for firepower, but O-Cath simply had a bigger arsenal. โ€ข CAL turned another marquee matchup into a public execution. Ja'Hyde Brown ran circles around LCA's defense for 143 yards and three touchdowns on six receptions. โ€ข Collins kept a firm grip on the county with a third consecutive rout of Shelby County. The Rockets have seen enough of Kade Goodin, who tore their defense to shreds with 331 yards and three touchdowns through the air, plus another 74 and two scores with his legs. Honorable Mention โ€ข Tyler Fryman left a trail of bodies in his wake as he housed the opening kickoff against Dixie Heights. โ€ข Kasen Brock rumbled for 111 yards and four touchdowns against North Hardin. โ€ข Garyon Hobbs scored three touchdowns against LCA to complement Brown. Two To Watch ๐Ÿ”Ž โ€ข Quarterback Carson Herbst has thrown his name in the race with a strong start to the season. He powered Madison Central to victory over Madison Southern with 215 rushing yards and five combined touchdowns. โ€ข Madisonville's Ryder Sandidge ranks among the state's leading rushers and scorers. He gashed Henderson County for 343 yards and five touchdowns two weeks ago.
  16. The Cooper graphics department is having a breakout season. ๐Ÿ”—: Source
  17. It's around 180 miles and over three hours.
  18. Ironton is tough. They always have a handful of kids with FBS offers. Watch out for Kayden Edwards, a WR/DB that's committed to Boston College. This is Somerset's only true litmus test as a contender in 2A. If they can win or even push Ironton for four quarters, it puts 2A on notice.
  19. ๐Ÿป Ballard vs. Bryan Station ๐ŸŸข๐ŸŸก ๐Ÿ—ž๏ธ | Bruins And Defenders Searching For First Win Of The Season ๐Ÿป | Ballard is off to its worst start since before the Riherds Scoreboard debuted in 1998. The Bruins have struggled offensively, averaging 10 points and less than 200 yards per game. ๐ŸŸข๐ŸŸก | Bryan Station is no stranger to slow starts, this being their fourth 0-3 in the last five years. The Defenders have been even more offensively challenged, averaging just 9 points and 169 yards per game. They're clinging to the tail end of the Top 10, a testament to the quality of their losses - South Warren, Boyle County, & Corbin. โœ๏ธ ๐Ÿ“– | Station has won four in a row over Ballard. Coincidentally, last year's game was low scoring, with the Defenders notching an 8-3 win.
  20. Ashland should have little trouble reaching 8-0 before they face JC and LexCath to close the regular season. I would favor them over JC right now and I think LexCath is winnable. An unbeaten regular season is a very realistic goal.
  21. A running clock is off the table this year. It's not that Russell has regressed, but rather that Paintsville has improved greatly. Russell has a lot of people banged up, so I'm not sure who will be suiting up. They may need all hands on deck to win this on the road.
  22. Here's a twenty minute highlight package for you. Both teams are going to be a problem when November comes. The line play is there, the defenses are legit, and both offenses have numerous options to hit you with.
  23. ๐Ÿน Madison Central vs. North Laurel ๐Ÿ† ๐Ÿ—ž๏ธ | London Calling For Rematch Of Last Year's War Of Attrition ๐Ÿ”ต๐Ÿ”ด | The Indians have steamrolled the competition a combined 136-13 behind a powerful, but quick hitting ground game. ๐Ÿ”ต๐ŸŸข | The Jags regrouped during a bye week after letting the Corbin game get away from them late. โœ๏ธ๐Ÿ“– | North dominated time of possession last year to survive a 9-7 rock fight in Richmond. The Indians missed a potential game winning field goal as time expired.
  24. I'm not going against Trinity, but that Baylor offense is going to be a handful. As stated above, they've got more than just the superman running back. It will likely come down to how Baylor's offensive line handles the vaunted T defense. โ˜˜๏ธ by 7-10 points.
  25. ๐Ÿฆโ€โฌ›Atherton vs. DuPont Manual โ™ˆ ๐Ÿ—ž๏ธ | The Ravens Fly Into A Threatening Crimson Sky ๐Ÿฆโ€โฌ› | The tune-ups are behind them. It's time to dub the Ravens a contender or unmask them as an apparition after outscoring a suspect schedule a combined 149-0. โ™ˆ | The suddenly ailing Crimsons were trampled by a stampede of broncos. Kaden Mack's availability looms large as Manual takes aim at an Atherton defense that's been bulletproof so far. โœ๏ธ๐Ÿ“– | Mack tossed two touchdown passes and the Crimsons completely took the run away from Atherton in last year's 33-21 Manual win.
