  1. Maybe I would feel differently about the whole running up the score issue if I didn't have a daughter playing soccer for dayton and a son on the football team. Seeing them get humiliated on a consistent basis can take it's toll.
  2. in a full game with a lot of help from their keeper. We really have only 2 girls that can score, and they were on back line/side line for most of second half.
  3. Congrats highlands for putting 14 on Bellevue. Whatever works for you I guess.
  4. Have to go with Brossart. However, Bellevue has a little more speed and might do a better job in pass coverage than dayton. If Bellevue can get their quick passing game going it will help neutralize the brossart pass rush. I would like to see this but will be down in Pendelton.
  5. This is too funny. HHS BGP threads are among the best things on the internets.
  6. The center is the punter. One of the other lineman was kicking off. Not really the preferred method .
  7. I heard Bellevue coach did address it immediately. Seems like a class guy. I'm sure it was a rough loss for their kids. Feel bad for their kicker, who is really good actually. There were a lot of tears of joy shed by the Dayton folks. Don't want to overstate the importance of a single win, but this one was significant. Now on to Pendleton county then to new Miami. Go Green!
  8. Didn't think I would see us beating Bellevue during my son's time there. It took 2 days to get it done. Some of the Bellevue kids not wanting to shake hands after the game. C'mon man.
  9. So proud of our team. Far from a thing of beauty but what a huge win.
  10. Getting confirmation fr9m dayton ad?
  11. How long until it's official? They should call it now.
  12. Might be witnessing history here tonight carrier.
  13. Should be a big night. Get there early for the "black out". Dayton still without starting qb, but they are extremely confident going in to this game.
  14. that hurts. still like bracken though.
  15. Seth Chin was out with knee injury. He is the best player on the team and was supposed to start at qb. Hopefully he can go this week.
  16. disappointing start. was hoping for a better showing. not that it would have made much difference, but dayton's starting qb/ safety was out. would've helped with pass and pass defense. brossart did a great job protecting their qb and they have fast receivers that had plenty of time to get open. didn't see much of run game, except for keller. I didnt see much of a drop off from last year, and in some ways they may be better. the back up qb for dayton was actually 3rd string and struggles knowing the plays, as it seemed, did most of the offense throughout the game. dayton actually showed some life early in second half. had a nice drive and some good stops on d. but penalties, turnovers and mistakes doomed any type of comeback. hopefully they get it cleaned up by next week, for what should be a closer than usual game with bellevue.
  17. Able to mow the field and repaint last night. Everything is good to go.
  18. Dayton has 2 solid junior backs, one of which can also play qb and receiver. We have 2 other guys that will see a lot of carries, both more fullback types with some speed and strength. There is another guy who is moving to tailback from receiver, who really surprised in the scrimmages, a little undersized but a senior. Should be a good battle in the trenches. Need to keep make Martin out of the backfield. Dayton has a few lineman, Norman, Matthews, Lukens who are looking forward to the challenge. These guys have been starters since their freshman year, and to say they are hungry would be an understatement. Just a heads up, as of this evening the field was a mess. Supposed to be soccer tomorrow but I'm hearing it may be moved or postponed. Thus, the football game could be affected, as well. I think if the rain holds off, it should be good. Will post here when I know for sure.
  19. One of our key guys got hurt in scrimmage. Not sure on status at this point.
  20. And the injury bug bites again. You couldn't make this crap up. Will have to soldier on.
  21. Don't want to make any prediction other to say people will likely be surprised with how much better this Dayton team is than in the past few years. They moved the ball at will against Newport last week and were able to finish drives. They are big and strong on the line, and are able to rotate guys in and out on defense which is tremendously helpful. Their skill guys are faster and stronger, and still competing for starting spots. The team needs to stay focused and don't get down on themselves. Hoping for a good season.
  22. 32 seniors. must be nice.
