I can’t imagine Aspire getting approved for membership. But the rumors are that they may not exist by the time the season starts. The money guys are gone, and it’s local Louisville guys trying to keep it going.

My guess would be that they haven’t done anything. I think in the past, there usually an injunction filed right before the season starts so the kid can play while it’s being reviewed. If it’s not resolved by the time the season ends, they just drop it because the games have been played. If they filed it now, it could be resolved before the season starts and he could be ruled ineligible. Again, just a guess.

Considering that Travis Steele is the head coach at Xavier, I’ll take his word for it.

Good. I was afraid he’d listened to the wrong people and gone to a prep. Going that route, he still would’ve had to go JUCO. Incredible player.

He graduated. Think he’s going the post grad prep route.

I don’t know that he actually has any “real” offers yet. He’s garnered a ton of interest though. If Xavier or Louisville had offered, you’d see it in more places than this message board.

I’ve heard the same thing. And the story isn’t pretty.

Elite level passer, elite decision maker, more consistent shooter, high major defender. He’ll seamlessly transition to either guard spot at the highest level. That’s not a swipe to DA. I love his game, and I don’t think he’s far off. I’ve caught some flack on here for how far I think he can go. They both played for great AAU programs. But David also plays better competition all year long. Trinity and Pendleton are drastically different in terms of scheduling.

I was going to say “the guy that switched jobs a bunch?” but I didn’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings.

I’m a huge fan of David. He’s the best player in the state, with Allen being a close second.

Rivals has him as 47 overall. ESPN and 247 haven’t updated their rankings yet.

We can revisit this in a year. But it’s always funny that Kentucky people immediately dismiss Kentucky kids as “not as good as the other commits”. Dontaie is as good or better than any other wing that’s committed to Kentucky.

Kentucky will offer him when he’s on campus. And for all the “is he willing to wait to play?” people, he’s as good or better than any wing that’s committed. He’s a 4/5 Star kid. Can score at all 3 levels, plays D, and has great length. Potential to be a one and done.

A group of prep schools play a series of events. It’s basically a prep school league.

From a talent standpoint, he’s there. As a player, yes. Distant. Johnson and Allen do so many things for their teams that don’t show up on the stat sheet. Tandy is a volume shooting guard packaged as a PG because of his height.

I’m glad DA has ascended to the next tier of elite players. He’s a great one. I’d wager that a UK offer comes on the August 1st visit. That said, I still think he’s the #2 kid in the class in the state. David Johnson and DA have separated themselves from the pack. Tandy is 3rd. But a very distant 3rd.

Not necessarily him thinking he can do better. Those schools may have offered him as a 2019 kid. Happens a lot.
