Prep (post-grad) program based NOW at Holy Cross (Aspire players use the remodeled dorms there).

 

Was at DeSales last year. The split was mutual and wasn't exactly friendly.

 

WITHOUT talking to the folks at Aspire, I have concerns:

- Will they have their own school building?

- Do they realize that scholarships and recruiting aren't allowed (scholarships to Trinity and X are controlled by national third party)?

 

Unless Aspire drastically changes its ways, I don't see any way this gets cleared. They might get a waiver to play KHSAA teams, but I thought they had one anyway.

I can’t imagine Aspire getting approved for membership. But the rumors are that they may not exist by the time the season starts. The money guys are gone, and it’s local Louisville guys trying to keep it going.

Who are the money guys, I was always under the impression the money guys were the Coaches father and Pitino.

 

The coaches father and Pitino own horses together etc. The coach of Aspire used to be a manager under Pitino.

All of those guys are gone. It’s not the same people that brought Aspire to Louisville. Roger McClendon and Tim Barnett are the Aspire guys now. They’re locals. When Bassett graduates early and committed to WKU, the money oddly left town.....

If you knew, why did you ask? I clearly said that I’d heard he was gone. But wasn’t sure. I do know Roger McClendon is who’s running Aspire now. There was a big article when they moved to Holy Cross.
