  1. Indeed the team to beat in the 10th for sure. The great run those Sophmores (at the time) went on last season was totally unexpected and has the school and community pumped for this season. So would anything other than a repeat 10th region title and state run be considered unsuccecful? These girls will have a huge target on their back this season and i am interested to see how they respond to that as well as how new coach Brad Cox handles the pressure in his first season as Ladt Royal coach.
  2. indeed it is. Here is the blank form for the playoffs. Just plug in the teams. :lol2: :thumb: http://khsaa.org/football/fbblank.pdf
  3. Looks like they would play Fairview in the second round and possibily Paintsville if Paris can get by Fairview. Thats of course the if favorites were to all advance. Fairview/Nicholas will be an interesting matchup as will Raceland/Brossart
  4. I would say your correct with your assesment but I will check into it.
  5. Ive not seen Frankfort but I did see Nicholas and they are decent. Extremely tough at home. I do agree with Paris schedule being on the weak side. Not to mention they didnt play very many road games this season. I dont see Paris winning it all by any means just think they will win a game or two in the playoffs and be a tough out for most of the powerhouse 1A programs.
  6. Where is the undefeated Paris Greyhounds in this discussion? Surely they have a shot right? They looked fairly solid the two times I saw them this season.
  7. I can asure you Im not a player just a vocal observer
  8. This^^ Hawkins is a baller.
  9. I would have to agree with this statement. Only problem I see is after D. Williams there's not much to talk about on the mound. He is there only hope. 14-9 was the combined scores in last years 3 games. All close games. Bishop tossed a shutout in game 1 at Mason. Close games like that it all comes down to coaching and that's where Bracken has the advantage. Errors killed the royals in the district championship game. Another area where Bracken excels is on defense. A bases clearing miscue by the royals right fielder gave Bracken 3 runs in that District game and that was the difference in the game. To be honest Ive see these kids on the field everyday the past couple weeks grinding working on defense where the take extreme pride in. If they ain't taking grounders they are in the cage. These boys are focused and chomping at the bit to prove last year wasn't a fluke and are poised for a repeat performance in 2016. Scooter Charles will be a COY candidate in the 10th region this spring. He is the reason for the success. Yeah the kids have to play but they love playing for Scooter.
  10. We really need to wait until the draw to make any formal predictions. To many variables to anticipate. I will say Scott is the way out in front favorite, but any team at this stage can be beat not saying it will happen but it is possible. Any team is capable of having an off night.
  11. Hows his footwork? I ask because usually kids that tall when that young are often growing at a rapid rate it hard for them not to be a bit unbalanced. Sounds like a defite presence ot the hoop.
  12. I would assume we would have to back to the 90's. 92-93 the lady jackets won the All A state and the girls sweet 16. And possibily in 97-98 when the Shasta McNabb led lady jackets had alot of success. But back then Nicholas was in the 37th district with Harrison, Bourbon and Paris so i guess that point is mute.
  13. Bracken and Augusta (im from the 39th district, grew up in the 38th ) When they play each other Im with Bracken.
  14. If I can have it my way might as well go for broke.
  15. To hell with that. :lol2: private and public would have to be separated:thumb:
  16. Honestly I don't give a :poop: what anyone brings up about last season because your right it was last year. He right though Bracken was very sub par last season but that's because they were very young and inexperienced. Very similar to how Mason Co is this year. I'll make no bones about it I am a small school fan. Anytime a small school can do well I think it's great. I am really on the Bracken bandwagon this yr. I've watched a lot of high school sports and the group of now juniors are a very talented group of kids in multiple sports. And these next two years are the best opportunity for something great to happen. So I apologize if I offend some on here but anytime a small school has success over a Bigger powerhouse school I think it's awesome. And if I am wrong I'll be the first one to admit it and will have a frosty beer with my crow.
  17. If they would just classify basketball we wouldn't have all this to worry with. Go compete with schools more your size. It wouldn't take a once in a lifetime team to win a district. When for the most part an average Mason Co team like this yr. has as good as shot as a great Augusta and great Bracken team. I know I probably just opened a can of worms with that statement but it is what it is.
  18. If memory serves they lost a good game by 7. Don't really know what you are implying here sir.
  19. It was a blow out and that was last year and all except Williams is gone. Like comparing apples to oranges. Last yr Bracken Co was a team of Sophmores with one senior and two juniors. Very inexperienced. They had more than one game like that. But all that combined with the regions best coach will only propel those kids to bigger better things. Last seasons debacle with the Jeremy Miles experiment and the schedule those boys played is only gonna make them better and tougher this season. And not to mention they will play Mason at home and if they meet in the district it will also be in Brooksville so they do have that going for them. For what ever reason Mason Co in the past has struggled at times in the igloo.
  20. And let's not forget last season! Was the top dog right alongside Campbell all season come the region tournament they loose in the first round to a district runner up.
  21. Mason Co should win the district every year. It's sitting on a platter each year being a 3a school in a district with 3 1a schools two of which will be lucky to Have 100 kids total k-12. For what it's worth Mason has had all the talent necessary the past 4-5 years but not so great results in the post season. 2 region appearances in the last 4 years with some good talent on those teams. Very sub-par by Mason Co standards wouldn't you say? :idunno:
  22. Ill answer your question with a question sir. Do you see them running the table in their district? I do not. And to add to the list you already have I would put Paris and Brossart. Mason, Augusta (whom they didnt schedule), and Bracken (Dec 15 @Bracken) are all about as equal as a district can get any of the 3 could win it this year. So I feel pretty confident in my 10-12 statement. Mason is down this year. If its just for one season it is what it is. They will bounce back once this new group gets a season at the varsity level under their belts. May take a season or two. Is it so far fetched that the other schools in their district have caught up with them for a season or three?
  23. The Royals will go as Pig Williams goes. Very inexperienced group this year. Garrison will also have to step up this season. Have some decent size but none with any real varsity minutes. Mason will be competitive as usual but I see them with 10-12 losses. Will be some good district games this year as well as tournament. Pig has not needed to be the prolific go to guy is seasons past Im interested to see how he adjusts to that new role this season. Not to mention how is his knee going to be. Hopefully it will not be something that is a nagging injury that comes and goes all season.
  24. Indeed you are correct
