Is Class 1A a Two Tiger Race?

Paintsville and Beechwood, right?

No one else has a chance, correct?

Pikeville has a chance. Paintsville is playing great right now, but when they played Pikeville at home I left that game feeling like the Panthers lost it rather than Paintsville winning it.

Who knows though, but they do have a chance against Paintsville. I still think its Beechwoods to lose though.

Beechwood, Paintsville and Pikeville are the class of 1A.

Call me crazy, but does either truly have a shot to upend Beechwood? I just figured once Mayfield and Murray left for 2A, it was going to be Beechwood's until proven otherwise.

No doubt Pikeville has a chance. Paintsville needed a miracle to beat them when they played each other earlier in the year.

Correct! Beechwoods to lose Imo!

Where is the undefeated Paris Greyhounds in this discussion? Surely they have a shot right? They looked fairly solid the two times I saw them this season.

We will find out just how good Beechwood is this Friday when they play New Cath. For me, that game is always the measuring stick on Beechwood's chances for a title. Beechwood is dramatically improved from where they were in game 1. I still don't buy the statement that it is Beechwood's to lose. They will face very tough challenges on the way to a title and will have to be at their best to win it

Beechwood has way too many weapons on offense for anyone in 1a to stop. If someone beats them I will be shocked!

Hard to tell. They've played a really bad schedule that makes it tough to judge. Playing close games with a very down Frankfort, Holmes and Nicholas County makes me think they have no shot.

Which team is Region 3, Pikeville or Paintsville?

That is the team who will host the Semi's and probably be the slightest of favorites in the rematch of it takes shape.

Ive not seen Frankfort but I did see Nicholas and they are decent. Extremely tough at home. I do agree with Paris schedule being on the weak side. Not to mention they didnt play very many road games this season. I dont see Paris winning it all by any means just think they will win a game or two in the playoffs and be a tough out for most of the powerhouse 1A programs.

Who are their potential match ups? I assume as a 1 seed they don't have to come to Ft Mitchell week 2 this year?

Paintsville is in District 6 thus Region 3 so if Pikeville and Paintsville were to meet up it would be in Paintsville.
