Turner is good but I think Highlands will keep her in check. Highlands can run with Holy Cross all day! Should be a nail biter! Ten points is a big spread! Sure don't see that either way!

Would like an opinion on this,but I would think that Holmes coaching staff should work on there half court game the rest of the year against zones getting ready for tournament play! Maybe they do but last night they struggled in that phase of there game. No disrespect just my view!

Highlands coaching staff does a great job in game preparation,and I am very anxious to see how they attack the match up zone of Holy Cross! And yes I do agree with RCC9 about the Highlands defense! They will throw a lot of different looks at you but I would say that there really should not be any big surprises either way.Both teams know each other very well,I am going to say this is going to be a well played game and the team that can knock down shots against tough "D" wins!

This is a quick turn around for Holy Cross after such an emotional victory but a great game to prepare for the ninth region tournament. Highlands will be much more disciplined versus the match up zone and in my opinion have a better outside shooting team than Holmes,I look for the birds to be patient and get some good looks. Highlands can flat out stroke it when they bring there " a "game! On the other hand highlands won't be able to turn Holy Cross over like Holmes did. If Highlands bigs can stay out of foul trouble and on offense screen that zone for good looks I feel the birds win in another great game! I love this Holy Cross team but I think the quick turn around while still not 100 percent healthy gives a slight edge to the birds!

Great game tonight, I thought Holmes forced shots in the paint area that had no chance in the first half. Going into this game I thought one weakness Holmes had was there outside shooting. They knocked down a few but probably shot a low percentage. The match up zone Holy Cross plays is tough to score against and forces you to take bad or rushed shots! To me that was the key to the game,Holmes could not score in the first half therefore could not get into there press where they can turn you over for easy lay ups!Holy Cross is still not 100 percent but there slowly getting there!

Take the win and move on. This a real difficult time of year for basketball teams,with summer work outs,AAAU games these kids have been going at it for quite sometime and the battery is a little low. You see it in all levels of play,a lot of coaches will cut back on practice time in hopes of regaining that spark! I think the Birds will be fine,with the two tough games coming up the blood will start pumping and they will be ready to go. Good luck,hope I am right for your teams sake!

This will be a tough game for the Mustangs,it is not easy to refocus after playing in the region championship. To much pressure out front will be very difficult for the stangs to overcome. One thing I want to see is how Holmes shoots the ball from the outside. Could be a weakness?

Congrats to the Polar Bears,enjoy this wonderful experience. You girls will cherish this for the rest of your lives! On another note when was the last time that both Brossart and Ncc both failed to go to the tournament?

Saw the Indians play this weekend and it appears there getting healthy at the right time but I am going to take the dogs in a knock down drag out 5 point win!

I was an official for quite a few decades and I will tell you that it is a very,very tough job. These kids are so fast and athletic and things happen so darn fast that you have a split second to blow that whistle or its to late. What else happens is that you have 3 refs out there and maybe one is just flat out having a bad game,well guess what,it's going to reflect on the whole crew in the fans eyes! With the 3 man crews you will maybe get an official who is not as experienced as the other two and this will lead to problems a lot of times as well. Hope this helps shine some light on officiating!

Strap on your seat belt because its going to be a wild and entertaining month of high octane action! All you fans out there get out and enjoy the action but always remember its only a game and have fun watching your daughters play! Nothing gives a player a bigger thrill than looking up into the stands and seeing mom and dad sitting in the bleachers! So let's all act like the adults we are and make are girls proud! Toss it up lets play!!!!!

It's hard for me to believe that Coach Dawn did not have his team prepared for anything the Colonels showed. I don't always buy into the out coached deal. It seems like every time a team loses now days all you hear is well he was out coached. I would like to see some examples of where the Newcath staff was out coached! Hell yes it happens but in this particular game I say both coaches were well prepared weeks in advance and hey just because you lose to a terrific basketball team does not mean you were out coached! With great coaches like these two guys they work even harder heading into a big game than you could imagine. Did not coach k just lose 2 straight before beating Louisville!

Only shot Notre Dame had was to stay close so they could play zone and slow tempo. Lets face the facts Notre Dame is down this year plus battling injuries,this score should be no surprise! Hate to say that and I mean no disrespect to the Notre Dame program!

Hard to keep the focus when you have such a big lead at half, we all have been there!

No love lost between these two schools! Strong language being tossed out in the area I was sitting! I believe some extra police officers were called in after the parent argument! Hard to believe people get that worked up!

Ncc had a chance to cut the lead down to 7 or 8 with about 5 minutes to go,they missed a contested lay up and from that point on Holy Cross rocked the house!

Holding HolyCross to 16 points from there bigs was in my opinion a very nice job.

Holycross will only get better,they were no where near 100 percent! Some girls for Holycross struggling with conditioning. To be expected after being off for awhile. Good luck to the Indians tomorrow night.

Convincing,no way! 30- 18 to start the fourth? If ncc shoots the ball just a little this is a much closer game! Ncc was not going to win this game but wide open looks just would not go. Ncc did a great job on the bigs all night but did tire late in the 4th. Box score won't show it but number 21 for Holycross played a terrific all around game!

3 horse race,anything else would be a long shot winner paying big dollars!

Good point RC99, when I started the thread Highlands had lost the one game and in your view had not played up to there potential in a couple. So yes I would say that we could be talking about Highlands as well. I am not a Holmes graduate and really I just was curious as to what people thought about Holmes running the table! Hey I love girls basketball and just the fact that we are having this discussion speaks volumes!
