Can Holmes girls run the table?

 

First of all, welcome to BGP, Rimbuster!

 

I'll assume you think they can. Are you talking regular season or all the way to state? Why don't you tell us why you think so?

We all know how tough the 9th region is this year but I really believe with there depth,outstanding quickness as well as a nice inside game they just might have a chance. But in my view there ability to play tough man to man gives them a chance!

I could be wrong, but I think if Holmes wins Friday v Notre Dame, they would set a new school record for girls hoops for most consecutive wins.

 

The 01-02 team with Erica Hallman that made it to the state semi's won 16 straight before losing.

The game @ Highlands looks to be their toughest hurdle left. They have a heavy "home" schedule left with some competitive teams. Outside of Highlands unless they overlook someone or play down to an underachieving teams level as many teams seem to do these days they have a good chance. I am sure that Coach W-R will have Highlands ready for them.

If you are speaking in 9th Region terms, then I think it is possible. I agree with others that their games with Holy Cross and Highlands will be the most competitive of those on the remaining schedule.

 

As far as winning state in an undefeated fashion, that would be much more difficult as E-Town is, IMHO, the cream of the crop this year.

 

Holmes and Highlands (and maybe Holy Cross) can each win 30 games this season.

How do you win 30 games if you don't play them all?

I think that any team that beats Holmes will have to get off to a great start so that you can play some zone and slow the tempo into your favor. I'am not sure just how good there outside shooting is. I think Highlands will mix it up a lot,Holy Cross for sure and NotreDame had great success last year! If Holmes proves they can play a patient half court game and knock down shots vs zone defenses then I do feel they can run the table in Northern ky! Hoops action is heating up, sit back and enjoy.

I agree. I also want to see what happens when they punch and a team punches back. How do they react when what they typically do to teams isn't working. That's why I think Saturday will be an interesting game. They haven't been in a close game for a long time. 9th region teams will have scouted them much more than out of region teams. I'm sure they are going to mix things up on them. Maybe it works and maybe it doesn't. That's what we need to find out.

Better to take the loss now then later! Should be some Great Games to watch !

The Lady Dawgs have seen several different styles from slow to fast and have adjusted very well. They have played against man to man, zones and pressing teams. And still have came out on top. So teams can pick their poison and either get ran out of the gym or shot out of the gym cause they can shoot too. You all shall see real soon cause we are coming to gym near you are against it really does not matter. Just make sure to pay attention cause in a blink of an eye your teams could be the next one to be ran out of the gym. Lady Dawgs by 15 over ND.

Old jams,you are pretty confident,but I do question the caliber of competition the dogs have faced thus far! While I think they could run the table, a well coached and very balanced Highlands team should make for a terrific game.
