Old jams,you are pretty confident,but I do question the caliber of competition the dogs have faced thus far! While I think they could run the table, a well coached and very balanced Highlands team should make for a terrific game.

 

 

I agree as I have stated in previous post that HHS and HC will both be tough games as both were last year. As far as the teams the Dogs have faced is concerned the girls dont make the schedule they just play the game. If your team is weak then they get blowed out and if they try control the tempo the Dogs take what is given. Fast or slow, sloppy, clean, dirty this Dog team could care less because they are in great condition and wont stop fighting until the last buzzer sounds. If the teams they play can stand the heat then maybe they come out with a victory. All three teams have experience and are well coached. And they all have different styles and can adjust during games. Each team has added key pieces that will be factors in how they excecute their game plans and which teams bench can contribute because I believe that will be the deciding factor because of fouls.

Every opponent is motivated because you are the one with bullseye on your back. Then you play your 4th game in 5 nights in a hostile gym, with hostile officiating. Very tough, even for a great team to go undefeated for 30 games.

Now I'm not predicting anything but just want to point out the tail end of the Dawgs schedule is home laiden and at no time in the remaining regular season schedule will they play their 4th game in 5 nights in a hostile gym...

I have never agreed with this philosophy that it is better to lose one than go undefeated. I do agree you need to be challenged but it is better to win that tough game than to lose it. I do think Holmes will lose one during the regular season. They have their toughest opponents ahead of them.

As far as them going undefeated, I don't think they will. HOWEVER...if they do, they will have a new fan and I will be rooting my tail off for them at state because that will be impressive!

BGP is very much like crack...one hit...errrrr....read one post and you are hooked! Then when you start posting the only way to stop is through some type of intervention!

I think what Holmes has done so far in the season has been nothing short of outstanding. Without a doubt they are the team to beat. That being said, they will have a loss sometime in the next month. I really hope they prove me wrong, but it is a really hard thing to do!

It's very simple! It's very hard to go undefeated. They have some very tough games coming up. IMO, tougher than any games they have played so far. Teams close to home are going to know way more about you than teams out of the region. They are going to get challenged way more than they have all year in the next two weeks. How will they react when it's not an easy victory?

 

I'm not saying they won't overcome every challenge and win out. Winning out for any team in the 9th is going to be a huge challenge. And I said, if they do, I may go down to watch them in state because I will be a fan!

 

Let me ask this question of the group. IF the OC girl's 3 in OT against HHS would have hit the front of the rim, would we have a thread right now about "can HHS go undefeated?" I'm not saying that to say how good HHS is. I'm saying that because even though Holmes is undefeated, I just don't think there is that much separation between Holmes, HC and HHS. Nothing leads me to believe anything different. Just my opinion.
