Can anyone take this away from Macy Morris from Bell Co ? She is having a terrific season but their schedule is suspect. Morgan Rich, Allen Co. isn't going unnoticed, she too is coming off a injury which hasn't slowed her down. Looks to be a 2 horse race. Any thoughts?

Male getting thumped by Henderson was a shocker to me. I thought that was going to be a good tune up for state, but the only effort they displayed was getting off the bus. Then tonite, Sacred Heart beating PRP by just 8, jet lag maybe?

Sacred Heart should have Male on it's schedule. How can you not have a region contender on your schedule, any reason? If I'm a coach, I want to know what I'm up against, no surprises. I do like their overall schedule, it is solid. Sacred Heart, Butler and Manual all return their core team next year so the 6th and 7th region will be well represented in the Sweet 16. The 5th. 6th and 7th regions have dominated the girls Sweet 16 the last 20 years outside of Lexington Catholic. My 5th region girls have made a statement being a major player 4-6 past years.

Nice win by Etown, as their defense was key tonight in making Butler turn it over. Etown did a great job handling the pressure of Butler, and their maturity really showed throughout the game. Torrens, Penn for Butler, and Clever, Boley for Etown was named all tournament team.

You are spot on about Henderson. I love the way Jeff Haile schedules every year, as he gets out of his comfort zone and travels. They are in the L I T at the end of the month with a lot of other top teams. He will be ready come Sweet16, trust me.

Wow, talking about beating a dead horse, geez. Some of you act like you never been around high school sports. Yes, kids call other kids bad names, they talk trash, and through elbows when they think refs aren't looking. I finally figured out why,as the answer lies right here. They do it so their parents can come on message boards and whine for 2 days. When my kids was getting heckled, it meant one thing, they was playing awesome. I loved watching other parents reactions when she hit her 4th 3 of the game. Enjoy the game, some of you are waaaayyyyy to sensitive. Now I will let you guys go back to bashing each others fans and players. Must be a 9th region thing, I dunno.

I agree RC99, traveling has nothing to do with the argument. Holmes missed out by not playing in that big tournament right down the road in Lexington before Xmas. Yea, that one, where top teams across the state come and play every December. It's Quality vs Quantity, it is that simple. I like what Notre Dame has done the last 2 years, stepping out and playing Sacred Heart, Male, Henderson Co, Assumption along with a few good out of state teams. That is quality my friends.

Only once have I ever heard of a game being cancelled due to sickness. This team wasn't in our region. Coach put the ball in their court for a remake, that team never called back, we collected $250 bucks after the season. We found out they played a district game the next night, and obviously wanted to be rested for it. Remember, it takes 2 people to let a game be cancelled. You may want to ask why your AD let them by, whoever heard of whining about having a sickness. *smdh*

Campbell 58 Brossart 36 Brossart has faired way worse with common opponents this season, plus they have a hard time scoring.

They play in the Louisville Invitational Tournament at end of January. As usual, this tournament has a strong field with a mixture of local and other strong teams across the state. Not sure why Butler isn't playing in this. Etown will also play Riverdale Tn in the Raatz Fence Classic, and Homestead Ind. in the Kentucky-Indiana Hall of Fame Challenge Cup. I like what Coach Mudd is doing with this team in getting them prepared for March. No rest for the weary!

Etown finishes strong in the Naples Holiday Shootout with a 71-69 win over Homewood-Flossmoor (ILL). This tournament had 8 nationally ranked teams and most games was decided by 5 points or less. Etown finished with a 2-1 record good enough for a 5th place finish. The lone loss was a last second shot by tournament finalist Miami Country Day.

Yes, I posted that myself. Miami Country Day, ranked 11th in the USA Today Super 25 came from behind to edge Etown. So yea, Fla teams can play as they have 2 teams ranked high nationally.

Elizabethtown rebounds from a 1 point loss to nationally ranked Miami Country Day with a win over Argyle Tx. Argyle is the No. 1 team in the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches Class 4A state poll and is ranked 18th nationally by ESPNW Great job girls, as there is no rest for the wicked as they face another powerhouse on Wed.

Cmon now, there is a lot of good teams in Fla, maybe they aren't looking hard enough.

No Div 3 players has played in the WNBA. Melissa Beyruti was the last girl who even had a sniff, but now is a coach in NJ. She ended her career in 2010 with a D3 record 397 3 pointers. It's not to say the WNBA doesn't look at D3's, but she may have hurt her chances by going D3.
