Etown finishes strong in the Naples Holiday Shootout with a 71-69 win over Homewood-Flossmoor (ILL). This tournament had 8 nationally ranked teams and most games was decided by 5 points or less. Etown finished with a 2-1 record good enough for a 5th place finish. The lone loss was a last second shot by tournament finalist Miami Country Day.

Nice showing!

This is outstanding! Great to see them challenging themselves! Probably bad news for KY teams!

They play in the Louisville Invitational Tournament at end of January. As usual, this tournament has a strong field with a mixture of local and other strong teams across the state. Not sure why Butler isn't playing in this. Etown will also play Riverdale Tn in the Raatz Fence Classic, and Homestead Ind. in the Kentucky-Indiana Hall of Fame Challenge Cup.

I like what Coach Mudd is doing with this team in getting them prepared for March. No rest for the weary!

Only team that will beat E-town this year in KY is E-Town! Too many weapons on that team. In seeing all of the teams play in the prestigious Naples Holiday Shootout, E-Town was hands down 1 of the top 3 teams in the Tourney! Despite having to work on improving their interior defense and the Guards lowering a high TO ratio, this team is very composed! Very gutsy win in their last showing against Homewood-Flossmoor (IL) battling from a 13 point halftime deficit to pull out the win in double OT. These girls are definitely poised for a dominant State Tourney run!

Butler not playing in What? the LIT? Have not heard that one.......

Butler 2014/15 Kentucky High School Girls Basketball

I think you are wrong.

As of this point, only the four state teams have been confirmed: E'town, Henderson, Ashland and Franklin County.

Other ones, plus matchups, are determined by LIT ratings later this month.

Can't imagine Butler, Sacred Heart or Male (currently undefeated) would NOT be in it, yet all three Bullitts (Bullitt East, Bullitt Central and North Bullitt) would BE. That doesn't make any sense at all.

The Girls LIT consist of the Top 12 teams(based on the Litkenhous rankings) in the 6th & 7th region and 4 teams from the state for a total of 16 teams. Teams from the 6 & 7 can opt out if they want. Cant imagine Butler deciding not to play. The Lit rankings will be out next Thursday, according to Jason Frakes.
