Covington Catholic 40 Ryle 7
Not shocked here. Covington Catholic is really good. And Ryle is reeling. Ryle coaches better get things under control and quick. Could be a long season.

5A #1 Covington Catholic at 6A Ryle
I felt that the coaches blitzed the linebackers a lot against Trinity or it appeared that way. They left the flats wide open all night for receivers! Missed a great deal of tackles in the back field or the line of scrimmage. All those things are correctable. a good week of practice and coaching and this could be a good game. That being said. Cov. Caths experience and talent will weight out in the end. 35-21!

Trinity 61 Ryle 14 (Scrimmage)
Watching both scrimmages last year and this year it is obvious about many thing. Trinity is a big time program and the players have bought into the tradition. Ryle is a program wanting to make the transition to a top notch program but the players haven't bought in. Watching the game it was obvious that Ryle was wore out by the end of the 1st quarter and trinity looked like they had just started to warm up. Ryle players running on field late, or not at all. ran some plays short players. looked confused at times. that can be on coaches but usually players not paying attention. lots of confusion on one side of the field and the other looked like a college program. I believe Ryle will be ok, coaching staff will see to it, but players have a lot of work to do. Team leaders need to be chewing some butt! #3 for Ryle was as good as any player on the field last night as far as skill position players.

Ryle 56 Simon Kenton 38
One of the best high school performances I have ever seen, by one of the best high school student athletes I have ever had the privelage to meet. Jake Chisholm. Wow.
-
Cathedral (IN) 23 Ryle 17
Not sure why Chisholm didn't get ball on last play.... Pilyers scramble to the goal line on next to last play with time running out was as ballsy a play I've seen in that situation in a long time. Ryle is improving week to week. Their defense is also rapidly improving. Gonna be fun watching the rest of the season and the playoff run.

Ryle 2017
Tell me 2020, What do Trinity, St X (Kentucky), St. X (Ohio) Elder, Lasalle, Moeller, Indy Cathedral all have in common. These are definitely power house programs that on any given year could be rank in Top 25 programs in the nation. Scott County currently is the only game in town in that area. Lafayette has had unbelievable talent the last few years. To Bash SK or Ryle as not being able to compete is just plain silly, you silly BIRD! Give SK the top 10 players off of Scott and Dixie, Give Ryle the Top ten off Cooper, Conner and Boone. Now you have evened the playing field with the above mentioned schools! Imagine what the Ryle team would have done with all those players last year! Quit whining 2020 bluebirddad!

Livingston Central to consider football program
I think it is great when a school starts new programs. And yes they struggle. It take special coaches to start programs, so 1st thing that is what they need to find. From a fan or supporter of football I would do what ever I could to help them have success. Always great to have more kids playing a great sport, learning some great life lessons!

Scott County 42 Ryle 40
Not sure why there always have to be haters on here. This could be a really neat forum and it is, but doggone it these are kids. Quit making it out to be more than what it is. Ryle, Sk and all the schools who had great seasons deserve their kudos. Those who didn't have great seasons, the kids still deserve credit for being out their putting out the effort to play. In our society today, Give all these kids (young men) credit for working hard to play a sport they love. We as a community and I mean all of sports lovers are losing way to many of these kids to negative things in life, drugs, alcohol, etc. remember some of these kids have fragile self esteem. Give credit before being critical. Give discipline when needed, some of them need that guidance. Most of all enjoy the moments, because they don't last long enough! Let the players coaches and fans enjoy it! Now to be a hypocrite, Highlands will never be what they were! and it has zero to do with the players, coaches or fans! Times are a changing! well maybe a few of their fans!

A Totally Reasonable Playoff Proposal
Love it GCHS_uk9. I like the 24 team format per class with the bye! You can element the in season byes that way? Also I heard some one say about the private schools classification each year, well I know some states give teams classification points by how well they did on the playoffs the year before. a point for each round won, and -1 point for each loss. The state champion moves up automatically except big schools obviously. If a team reaches 6 points total in back to back years, they move up a class the next year! They can fall back down once they lose points

2nd Round Playoffs Cooper/Ryle Predictions
Rematch of a great game a few weeks ago. Should be a fun game to watch! Will definitely get me a big ole bag of kettle corn for this one. I think Ryle just has too many options to be stopped by Cooper all night. And Im sure Ryle defensive coaches will adjust to slow Cooper down this time!

Ryle 47 Henry Clay 3
Good win Ryle. Congrats to Tanner Morgan for surpassing 10,000 career passing yards. Only 10th Kentucky QB to do this. Cooper looking for revenge next week!

Litkenhous Ratings (11/1)
Not sure how sarcastic you are trying to be here! Wasn't saying that Ryle was going to be a big time contender against Trinity at this time, but they can beat anyone else in 6A on any given night. So whats your point here PEP?

Litkenhous Ratings (11/1)
Ryle can compete with Louisville team this season outside of Trinity night in and night out! Then given the competitive nature, anything can happen on any given night! For those who haven't seen Ryle play, Of course the QB is very good. Running back will surprise you when you see him, if he was a step faster in the 40, colleges would be lining up. What has impressed me has been the offensive line play and the play of the defense. The defense has gave up some big plays, but for the long run of a game their speed just wears teams down. The offensive line is just plain nasty. They will block to the whistle every play and are strong! I thought the line was a question mark at the beginning of the season, but now they have been the difference makers. Will be interesting playoff run to see who gets to face Trinity. In my opinion a team is going to have to be pretty tough to beat Ryle coming down the stretch. Ryle has to clean up some mental errors they seem to commit every week and if they do oh my, they will be tough!

Friday Night Funnies: Ask theguru ANYTHING
My brother played basketball with Jack Sikma at Illinois Wesleyan. I patterned my game after his with the reverse pivot move at the free throw line area. Sweet! Now my question, How about a BGP booth set up at the state finals to let fans get swag etc, and to mingle. BYOB....I'll get some Guiness from Mr. Gott for you Bruh!

Simon Kenton/Ryle Predictions
Heard they were charging $20 a car to help pay for the new school at St. Tims......just kidding....maybe

Honest question, help me understand..... Fans & Coaches
Great point! And some of those same posters still think they know more than the Ryle coaches! Amazing considering the year they are having! It comes down to this, Parents and there friends make up the vast majority of the fan base at any particular school. The majority of these people support the school, staff, coaches and team in a positive way. In todays culture the squeaky wheel get ALL the attention, especially with school administration. The powers to be need to grow a set and eventually the squeaky wheels disappear! Let coaches coach, players play and fans enjoy the game!

Ryle 49 Cooper 42
Interesting, And Ryle beat Highlands 50-14 and Highlands only scored on Ryles #2 and JV. How many did highlands put on SK? Buddy any given night these teams can play differently, your passionate , but often misguided support for SK and belittling of other programs is so boring!
-
Ryle/George Rogers Clark Predictions
Are you really kidding me! If I was Ryle's head coach I would have tried to put 100 on highlands that night! I was at the game Ryle could have done that! They were clicking, Highlands was down a player or two which should not be an excuse for how poorly they played. A program with Highland history of putting big numbers on the board against team! They were lucky that night Ryle's coaches called off the dogs when they did! That being said, I do agree that running clocks in 1st half are bad. Give the back ups a chance to play some quality minutes. Some of these back ups are seniors who don't start who cant play JV.
-
Highlands /Simon Kenton. No more.
Both these programs will be old fodder when the powers to be at Heritage academy start their football program! Watch out!!

Kentucky Football AP Polls
Highlands will not make a run!

Is Ryle a contender this year?
The fact that everyone believes no one can compete with the Louisville schools is understandable. Now if Im a head coach up here I'm not going to coach my kids believing that we are starting out the season playing for 2nd place in the state. Things change and beating someone on any given night is possible. If you don't believe that then you need to watch Rocky or Hoosiers again. Part of sports is believing the dream!!

Ryle 50 Highlands 14
No running clock in 2nd half. Running clock with 9:00 left in 2nd quarter

Highlands/Ryle Predictions
Ryle needs to clean up all the little mistakes (flags) in order to keep winning. Jake Long will be missed, but they will fill his spot with another quality young man who has worked hard also. From what I've seen if Ryle doesn't clean up the special teams they are in trouble it will cost them a game!!!!!
