We had a 40 something game winning streak at home that got broke earlier in the season by 6A McCracken County that went into OT. I think the last time we lost at home prior to that game was in 2008.

Very good OC team that came in tonight. I agree with the above post. Neither team wanted to give up an inch. Thought our defense played very very good tonight holding their QB in check. Mayfield made more plays and that is what it takes in a game like this. Very proud of our boys!! On to the next one.

There is a thin line between arrogance and confidence. I can promise you us Mayfield fans are not arrogant. With our resume of 11 state titles, appearing in the last 6 state games winning 4 of them, and 5th in the nation all time wins it jus boils down to us being confident in our team. Especially with this game being played at home when we have only lost 1 game in 40 something games at home. So jus because we like our chances doesn't mean we don't respect OC or any other team that we play.

I have really enjoyed this thread so far and can't wait to see the rest throughout the week. Can someone who is familiar with OC please tell me what the upperclassman looks like on the team? Is the team overall younger or older class-man? I think senior led group would be a force to reckon with. I can't help but wonder how hype and being prepared for big playoff game will play out for each team. Personally MF has seen the confidence of others teams carrying allot of momentum into the playoffs, which naturally should give them confidence, but I think the difference is experience. What's your thoughts?

Etown better stay humble and keep their heads clear bc this Caldwell team is no slouch. I would be very surprised if Dee Cain is not the best player on the field. Kid is amazing and a great playmaker. Caldwells QB throws a very good ball and will light it up if the defense gives him the opportunity. I'm going with Caldwell in this one.

I don't know much about OC except for they have put up a bunch of points all season long and I know they have a good QB. With that said I know our defense has played very very good all season long. It seems like we have had success with good QB's in the past and last week was one example. I think this game comes down to line play and especially for our defensive line. We need to keep pressure on the QB the entire game. Our offense played really well against Butler and Arnett was spot on with his passes. Having Bright back and healthy makes our offense so much more potent. I think they are finally clicking like much of us have enticipated and that's good to see late in the season. If memory serves me correctly the last time these 2 teams squared up it was my Sophmore year back in 1994 at Owensboro which was Mayfield's last year in 2A. We won that game. Being at home is a plus and I think we are playing good football so I'm gonna roll with my Cardinals in a close one 28-21.

Can anyone provide a radio station that this game would be called on. I would like to listen in on this game. Looking forward to seeing how it goes down. Thanks for the help!

Good looking QB but Mayfield's defense kept him in check all night. Offensive line had a great game making big holes for our RB. Well played game overall.

I wouldn't count Caldwell out. Very good team!

Speaking for most of us Mayfield people I would say yes we are confident in our team winning it all but make no mistake, we are not overlooking a potential matchup against Murray or OC! Those 2 teams are very capable of going all the way. If we make it to the final four then I know we will have our hands full against one of the Louisville schools. Us being at home throughout the playoffs is huge this season.

Funny thing is he is blocking in the back with his arms around him either our leading tackler or the 2nd leading tackler on the team. Makes me wonder if that play would have been a TD if he wasn't being entertained by the Caldwell player.
