The CCH/Highlands post are listed below. NO mention of ANY excuse and NO mention of a CCH BEST player NOT playing in the game. Post #24 is simply pointing out facts to correct Post #23. CCH/Highlands post #23: They played, what I'm guessing is their best XI for the first 20 minutes of the second half and that time frame ended 1-1 and Highlands had come out on the bad end of goal box scramble that CovCath was able to clear that had a better than decent chance to make it 2-1 at that point. Highlands plays with a ton of energy. CovCath, in my uneducated mind played with a lot of uncertainty. They weren't very decisive near the final 1/3rd. One thing is for sure, the Region is WIDE open this year. CCH/Highlands post #24: You guessed wrong, CCH did not play their best 11, at any time last night, they didn't and they couldn't. The "didn't" I can't answer, the "couldn't", one of these best 11 was unable to play last night. I'll say it one more time, FAIR RESULT as in CCH/HHS post #21, says it all. And the 6 sentences after FAIR RESULT in this post are all about what CCH could do to improve, NOTHING about an excuse for loosing to HHS. Post#21: Fair result. CCH continues to struggle in the attacking third, to much individualism. If they ever get to a full strength and go with their best starting 11 things may change. Stava really gives them a different type of attacking player but due to a lot of injuries, he has had to play most of their games in the back. CCH IMO has a good team when ALL of their players decide to show up and play, such as during the Trinity game. But so far this season to many of their players just don't get it done on a consistent basis. HHS was opportunistic last night and would agree, their staff has done a nice job so far. Another point, there is a popular person on here, a Cooper supporter that questioned the center referee in two recent games. Cooper tie with St Henry and Cooper loss to Ryle. Turf Burn, why no accusing Cooper fan of making excuses? Maybe because Cooper fan was NOT making excuses, but simply pointing on things he witnessed in these games...same things many many fans of many different schools do on here on a regular basis.

Dude you need to go back through both threads and re-read. Re-read my post listed below. CCH/Ryle thread post #12 and #15. #12 talks about a "gift" CCH gave Ryle had NOTHING to do with the referees. PK was "Christmas comes early" yes HORRIBLE CALL, did you see it? Facts a fact brother. But no where in post #12 do I blame the refereeing nor indicate CCH lost due to referees. Post #15 is about refereeing in general, has NOTHING to do with the Ryle/CCH game. CCH/HHS thread post #21, 24, 31. VERY FIRST line in post #21 says it all, FAIR RESULT. I need to say no more, those two words, FAIR RESULT pretty much says it all, no need to carry on.

If know one team that should use this as motivation.

I blame a lot of the poor refereeing the HS teams must suffer through on the lack of enough good (qualified) referees. And when I say qualified I don't mean passing some 100 question book test, and then being thrown to the wolves. Referees should be assigned based on experience and performance. I heard the local referees association once did peer and coaches evaluations to help grade their members, is this still being done? I counted the number of games the local referee association had to cover yesterday. I counted 4 boys and 5 girls varsity games plus the Boys Freshman regional, which were done by a 2 person system up to the final. Compared to a typical Monday/Wednesday (girls) or Tuesday/Thursday (boys) this is not a lot of games to cover. In most things in life we are graded on performance and rewarded accordingly. It would be nice to see the referees being assigned by performance/grading. Some incentive to do a better job (like in most things in life) has a positive impact on performance.

This one surprises me, I would have picked HHS. Nice to see two NKY teams in the final of the Lex Cath tournament, one that always has the top teams in the state each year.

I saw the pk call, it was an absolute horrible call. The officiating crew was in over their heads today. Center ref really struggled with foul recognition all game. Typically HS game played between two good teams. Both did some good things and some not so good things. CCH as mentioned had two off the post and at least one just miss by inches. Ryle got a gift on the first one and the PK was Christmas comes early. But they were dangerous at times also. Should make for a very interesting 9th Region. One could argue there are 5 teams with a legit chance of winning it; Cooper, CCH, HHS, Ryle, and St Henry.

YC, couple things. First we have something in common, we both have now commented of things neither one of us have seen with our own eyes. Me the Ryle/Cooper game, you my bgp admin deleted comment. So I'll ask you the same question, "your justification for making these comments if you haven't seen it for yourself? " Second, my comments were in jest/just adding a little humor to the day. And finally I actually took what you said (your post about the poor officiating) as fact. My comments about its disappointing that poor officiating impacted an important district game. Hopefully this clears things up...no blood, no foul?

So two bad calls against Cooper? The PK that was saved and the foul at the edge of the box that set up the free kick, lone goal(of the game) for Ryle?

So we have some playing both sides of the fence, be strong and make one prediction. CCH 2- Ryle 0.

Maybe Boone, Connor, and Cooper (all have really bad soccer fields, especially in mid October) could agree to give up their turns to host and hold it at Ryle each year. Atleast until one or more of those three upgrade their facility.

I've never quite been able to figure the formula or system that determines who host the district, regional, subsectional,sectional, etc. Sounds like Cooper is hosting the 33 district this year? Is is strictly done on a rotation, Cooper's turn this year? I would have thought the team with the best district record would host. But I can understand doing it on a rotational basis to spread the wealth, gate and concession revenue.

From reading the Update thread on this match it appears this game was very close. Is it fair to say both keepers had one goal saving save each and the foul call that set up the free kick which allowed Ryle to score may have been a bad call? Interesting result to me, I would have predicted Ryle would handle Cooper with a lot less trouble. Was both teams at full strength? Result puts Ryle in the driver's seat in district 33. I fully expect these two teams to meet again in the district final, will Ryle host?

"Mostly 8th graders" making up the Ryle freshman team really surprises me. Ryle has over 1600 students in 9-12? A good program with a lot of club players, does anyone have any thoughts on why this program struggles to attract 60 boys out of a pool of around 800, from grades 9-12?

Agree being flexible is a need for most if not all teams. And I never said anything about an excuse. YC, answer to your question, yes.

Personally I don't think it's right to mention any HS player directly in a negative tone. But I do agree with grionpull, to many comments on bgp about how good or great this team is, how great these players are, etc. An example, I'm sure the "top 10 best players in nky" post will be coming out soon, (personally I hope not). Never fails for a few people to list 3, 4, 5 players from their team on this list and before you know it, it comes the "top 100". Lets be realistic most teams are average at best, some are good, some are bad, and very few are really good.

Agree with YC. This coach's decision is certainly questionable. And IMO undermines his own player's qualities. Anyone that has the initiative to at least look just a bit past the first layer of any player's stats and discovers what you see here will question this and rightfully so. In the end many observers have no clue who this kid is, don't know his club histroy, etc but have the right to question his or any player that puts up this number of goals in so many blow outs. And back on the kid, why keep scoring yourselves, share the ball. Obviously these games are so one sided, he could easily give his teammates opportunities to score instead of taking them for himself. Cracking up about the X Scott coach moving south, maybe he prefers warmer weather.

Nice win for NDA, who is going through some difficult situations this season. I've heard no less then 3 starters out for the season. Not many teams can withstand that. Congratulations!
