Taking nothing away from Collegiate but the ALL A qt finals teams were far from powerhouses. Maher ranking and Strength of Schedule behind each of the 8 teams in the qt finals, including Collegiate. Absolutely no comparison between Clinton Co and NCC. Clinton Co is #155 with a SoS of 775. NCC is #34 with a SoS of 166. Collegiate beating Clinton Co anything less then 10-0 would have been a shocker. Collegiate beating NCC 8-0 is very surprising to me.

Impressive win, and 4 goals score on Madison Central that had only given up 9 goals in 15 games. Clean sheet to boot, defense strong. Who scored for CCH? Good week for the Colonels 9 goals for, 1 goal against, 2 shut outs, 3 big wins all Vs good teams. Bit of a strang stat today, I heard there was zero corner kicks in the game, pretty hard to believe.

I've seen Muck play and agree he is a talented player. And maybe this (in bold) was not directed at me, but any coach worth mentioning will tell you players need to learn how to play with a yellow card. Its part of the game, all good, smart, talented players will get yellow cards from time to time. Some yellow cards, the tactical type can be from a great goal saving tackle, etc are very smart plays and the player knows going in he will get a yellow card. So learning to play with a yellow card is a very valuable tactical technique that is learned from experience.

Maybe we could jump ahead and combine this with What Happened to Scott thread, just saying.

Be careful wayoffsides, some on here will be all over you for these comments and allow me to remind you by quoting him, "Game control is an important job of the referee and cards are one of the tools for game control." Switching back to yellow cards, there is something to be said for learning to play with a card. If a coach never allows his player to play with a yellow, the player can never learn to do so. So if the situation happens say the regional final game and an impact player receives a yellow card in the first half, he will have no experience of how to play the rest of the game carrying this yellow card. Last night may have not been the best time to gain this experience given the ALL A tournament this weekend, but maybe a game coming up. And if what you say is true, "Not sure he has ever played a match that I have witnessed where he has not received a card for physical play." it won't take long for this teaching situation to occur. By the way about how many games have you seen NCC play this season…how many yellow cards does Muck have? Either you have not seen many games or he has a ton of yellow cards.

Sounds like both teams are playing well, has the making of a really good match. The weather forecast is sunny, high around 88 at the 3PM kickoff, very hot conditions, no excuses, (I predict the weather conditions will be the same on both ends of the field) just facts. Will depth play a factor, who has more depth? At this point in the season my team plays well, competes with intensity for 80 minutes and provides some positives to build on, I'm likely happy with a close result W,L or T. Sorry to keep on this, but I read the follow up post on this and I would like to clarify. My comments, "Hope those boys on the back line are ok…after getting thrown under the bus." were NOT directed at the Simon Kenton players, the "getting thrown under the bus" comment is directed at unbiasedcoach's comments quoted above. Maybe I misunderstood your "Back line looked like it was week 1 in the season." I took that as "throwing (the Simon Kenton back line) under the bus".

So we do agree on something! And trust me I'm not one to beat on the referees, actually the opposite, check my record I rarely comment on the officials. A game where there is no mention of the referee crew is the sign of a well officiated match. And I'm aware how the lack of referees is forcing a lot of inexperienced crews to work these very difficult rivalry matches. A sincere appreciation goes out to all of the fine men and women that give up a ton of their time for little pay so these players can play the number of games they do. I can see a time where KHSAA may have to reduce the number of HS games in a season due to a lack of referees. This for a number of reasons will not be all bad.

How about some details YC. I have noticed the scoring for Cooper has been coming from more players this season, bodes well for them heading into tournament play. My guess is most teams are focused on ASnow, and for good reason and this is opening things up for others?

Relax, just asking. But lets be honest if you have seen any amount of HS games and know something about the game you have seen ridiculous cards given out. I've seen many for some great, hard, completely fair tackles.

You think? The current goals scored leader has 29 of those 40 goals in 6 games that her team won 8-0, 10-0, 11-0, 8-0, 8-0, and 10-0. This team has a SoS of 718, pretty much says it all. Do they not have any subs?
