I'll go FS this early in the season, but I'd be willing to take E-town later in the year. FS seems to have fewer questions, and that's all I'm going on at this point.

I know they played Green County last year, which ended up being a close game. But, I also don't remember Adair winning the games at CU any time they've entered them.

I didn't think they mailed the trophy. Any time I've seen the state finals, the trophy is already there and they get it after the game. Is that wrong? Seriously though, I don't know if I crown them just yet. Maybe not mail it today, but go ahead and put it in the box and put an address label on it, and tape it up.

Probably just a bunch of millennial participation trophies.

He has a point, but, to be fair, Berea is kind of on a 1A island.

I like where you're going with this, but there is one issue I have. I don't like leaving things up to the "coach's judgment." Because I know it's going to get abused, because there will be guys who think or know that they have to win at all cost.

If you added a week to the start and end dates, I'd be fine with that.

10+ years is asking a lot. When almost every job in the state has had multiple guys in a decade, that's probably not going to happen. I looked into it last year, maybe the year before that. And there were only 4 or 5 schools with the same HC for a decade.

Why has it been a mess?

20% seems a little high, but, with the education system across the state the way it currently is, I wouldn't be surprised if it's at least close to that 20% mark.

When was their last year playing football? And, why did it stop?

I'm not saying that's not possible, but to give it as little time as he did doesn't seem like he gave it much of a chance (if any). I mean, I'm assuming spring practice at Georgetown is over, so I don't know what he really would have done between then and now. I don't know any of the parties involved, so I don't have a dog in the fight. I just think this is a kind of crazy situation.

When you say "motive" are you implying money or facilities or something else?

I'm confused as to what that means. This situation is confusing to me, now.

That somehow feels like a really weird move to make, but also one that makes a ton of sense for both sides. If Glaser is to the point where he is completely retired, this would be a great job for him and a great hire for the program.

If someone makes a decision to shut down a program based on wins and loses, they're wrong. Period. If you can't safely field a team (as in, you barely have 11 players) then that is when you start those discussions. At no other point in time should it be considered.

That's some rough stats. I think their first order of business would be finding a way to not get the clock run on them in every game. Drive any distance to find teams you can beat. There's some bottom tier teams that I'd be trying to play, and if we couldn't beat them, at least you'd know you were the worst team.

It's a difficult job, to say the least. Their closest game was 35 points, in their first game. Didn't have a game with multiple TD's after week 3. Their team next year won't have a single player on the team who has won a game. I try to think of positive things for every potential job, but, this one is hard. At least you won't have high expectations, is the best I can do.

Then what's the fix? A quick glance at KHSAA results shows it doesn't appear to be limited to just football. They don't seem to have a lot of athletic success is anything, really. The only teams with a winning record over their last season was boys soccer and girls basketball. Are athletics, as a whole, simply being discouraged or are there just very few athletic students? And this isn't an attempt to cast blame on anyone, I'm not extremely familiar with that part of the state so this is a genuine curiosity. KHSAA's scoreboard only goes back to 1998, and they've only had 2 winning seasons, with 6 and 7 wins in 2006 and 2007. Is that just Grant County football, or is it just the "people in charge" of Grant County schools?

Has any asst. coach been running off season things?

If he can have half of the success of Thriller, he'll be in good shape. But seriously, here's hoping he can get them headed in the right direction. It's not an easy job, by any means.
