  1. Thats some big ole boys in the trenches for the Pirates for shore. Being big ain't everything, you got to be able to play, and they can play. Belfry has a good bunch of coaches all the way down to the midget league guys and these boys are taught the fundementls from the get-go. The old man gets a lot of press, but I don't think the other coaches get the praise they really deserve. A few of them could have struck out on their own and done well coaching other teams, but they haven't wanted to. Theres no place like home I reckon. Go Pirates
  2. I guess I picked a good week to come back home and watch the Pirates in person. It has been a while since I saw the boys in red and I was really impressed with them this Friday night. I know JC was without some regular boys and it surely made them a little less of a thread, but I never in a billion years would have expected the woodshed treatment they got last night. For whatever reason the Eagles just looked like a team going through the motions. They are probably a much better team than they showed last night. Belfry looked like a friggin machine. My gracious that is one big offensive line blowing open those holes out there for them boys to run though. And the defense is big up front, quick all over and tough enough to knock some of the taste out of you mouth. I hope I don't have to go back on the road for another week or two anyways I shore would like to watch them play some more. Way to go boys, this was a really good win.
  3. I feel ya big man. Thanks for doing the heavy lifting and straigtening it out for me. I think I understand that. Now when there is one more week to play, couldn't those numbers change and maybe Morgan end up with more points than Knott? Like if Allen Central and Jackson win but East Ridge and S Floyd lose this week then Morgan would have 7 and Knott still have 6?
  4. You want me to read all that on a Saturday? By the time I figure it out, next week games will be over and we can just read the results. hahahaha Maybe one of the more bookworm types can explain it all to me.
  5. How does that all work? You lost me there. What does outside wins got to do with it?
  6. First game i got to see this year. The pirates are a looking really good if you ask me. Maybe not up to the job for this week at Johnson but they should be ready to kick some 3A tail for the next 5 weeks after that. Pike Central just aint where they need to be. Maybe they had some kids leave to start a boxing club. hahaha (thats one I heard last night) Only complaint I got from this game was they didnt have no popcorn or hotdogs. What a jip to not have that for a football game.
  7. Shew, I am not sure what happens. Looks like they is a bunch of tyes in this division. How do they settle them? They should use the rankings of each team to figure it out. District 3 - 2nd place tyed between Henry, Bardstown and Waggener. District 5 - 1st place tyed between Russell, West Carter and Fleming Co. District 7 - 4th place tyed between Morgan Co, Knott Co and Magoffin Co.
  8. Come on, Sir Parker! Grab yer cutlass and yer matchlock pistol and cast yer lot aboard the Pirate vessel.
  9. I been on the road again, as they say in the song, for two months straight, now I got some time on my hands. I have missed the talk on here and wish I could have watched them Pirate boys on theyre march through the playoffs, but you know how it is, I gotta make the green to keep the home fires burnin. I did get to listen to a couple of games though and I think Belfry is ready to show Central who the new king is in 3A. Belfry is just the better team this time around and they going to prove it. 21-7 Pirates.
  10. I don't know what they feed them boys, but Horton and Bentley are MEN!!! The whole defense is loaded with talent and these two are not the only two who deserve credit either. Watching this team play is more fun than a trampoline in a sorority house. :jump:
  11. Does anyone out there seriously think Pikeville has a real chance at beating Belfry? I see they got 2 votes already.
  12. This game used to be so relevant and people from all over, not just Pike County, watched it with anticipation. Not anymore tho, as of right now, this pole here has 8 votes. That's is how exciting the Pikeville and Belfry game is now. The seniors on this team, most of them were in preschool or kindergarden the last time Pikeville beat Belfry. They don't have no idea what it used to be like for us old dogs. I like Coach Mac and I hope he keeps on making them better, but for now, Belfry rules the roost in Pike County, and I don't see those winds of fortune a changin' any time soon. I may take a nap during the 3rd quarter and hope somebody wakes me up in time to see the final score.
  13. I wondered if that was Coach Love or Coach Hart who cancelled that series with Belfry. They had verballed to agree on the game and then when everybody had their schedules just about worked out, they yanked that rug back out from under my Pirates quicker than my wife will snatch up a $20 bill. Cost Belfry about 2000 road miles over the last two years. :banghead:
  14. Belfry has put themselves on top of the slag pile in this race, but also there target grows bigger every week. They get everybodys best shot, every week. The Bible says what don't kill ya is gonna make ya stronger - so them Pirate boys I guess will just keep getting better, or die trying. As for the rest of this top ten, I can't really argue much about it. I do think I would put Louisville Central at #2 instead of Bourbon. They are playing some tough teams and ole Scroggy will have them Jackets ready when the playoffs come around. I don't think anybody in the west side is going to give them a serious challenge this year. Looks like everybody on the list should pull out a win this week except Paducah and maybe Bell Co. I wonder how long before the whispers start in Bell Co land about bringing back Uncle Dudley. My guess is if you hang out in the local barber shop you'd be hearing some of it already.
  15. Hey, no need to lie, if it was legal I would take advantage. Maybe I would travel around and tote behind a mobile hash store on wheels. College towns, concerts, government offices, festivals and state fairs. Mad stacks of cash for me, yo. I think I would only smoke enough to let a happy cloud be pumped out of my little el weedo mobile, and fling a craving on the crowd. Kind of like them funnel cakes and BBQ venders do at Court Days and Hillbilly Days and such. Man I cannot pass up those funnel cakes. Out of the other side of the trailer I guess I would sell cheetos and ho ho cakes for those with the munchies. It would be righteous, dudes.
  16. I got a feeling we will see more craw-dadin' out of martin county powers that be on this issue before it is said and done.
  17. The Big Red Machine will be up by 10 before the first quarter is over. This is a special team. Singin...."Baby you a song, you make me want to roll my windows down, and CRUISE!!!!!"
  18. wOW, this is a crappy situation. The supt has backed himself into a corner stall on this one. If only a magic button could be pressed to make this all better. If I am the supt, what can I do to straighten this mess out? If it were me, I'd fire up the old spin machine faster than you can say #whatthecraphappenedhere. Maybe everyone just jumped to conclusions and Hager's firing was only a wild rumor and the truth is he was only given a short suspended. Dangit that is pretty good. This might would be the story that benefits everyone the most? Especially considering all the negative press and local backlash against the BOE? Oh yeah, baby, I love me some spin machine, it is much better than the Easy button. Stay tuned, yo. You spin me right round, baby Right round like a record, baby Right round round round
  19. Ashland will run Russell off the field and win by 3 touchdowns
  20. Take your finger off the panic button, Tomcat fans and take a good deep breath. Smell that good ole familiar air polution and you will no that everything is normal. Ha Ha. Come on really. Ashland will be OK when they get their legs under them. Let them have some time to work it out and come district time they will be ready.
  21. No doubt, yo. I wish the old man would put the hammer down sometimes and let the big dog eat.
  22. I agree with the Tomcat fan, Belfry will run all over Southwestern in this one. No offense to the Warriors, but they aint got no answer for that big ole offensive line, pounding on you for 4 quarters. Them boys have been opening up wholes big enough for me to drive my Mack truck through. I haven't seen a team with so many weapons like this bunch from Pond Creek can throw at you. Belfry wins by at least 21, no problem.
  23. You got that one right mr nike. This team would whip any of the champion teams tails right now and it is only the 3 week of the season. baddest Belfry defense in decades and the linemen are clearing more acreage than mountaintop removal. they won't lose this year and Jim Matney can write that down and stick it on the wall
