What would you change?

I can live with this one.

I actually am inclined to give Central the edge at #2 right now. The early season stumble this year seemed to suggest they were down...but now Manual has asserted themselves as one of the top teams in the entire state and Lafayette is definitely for real and Central gave them all they wanted.

Bell County and Tilghman each have fallen out of the "Contender" range...but each have a chance to re-assert their value this week.

I do like South Warren a little more than Corbin right now. Corbin had a chance for validation this week but I expected a little bit more a statement against a bruised up Danville team. From what I have heard from the Southwestern fans thusfar the gap between Belfry and Corbin is massive as well. Don't know if that lends itself to anything though as right now Belfry looks like they may have distanced themselves from the pack though.

Corbin may be a little high, maybe more like a #6 or #7 ranked team at this time. They tend to play in spurts, especially offensively, kind of like the kids think they can turn it off and on at will and seemed to do the same thing last year. Special teams play needs to improve in some areas as well. I would rank them like this:

1. Belfry

2. Bourbon Co.

3. Central

4. South Warren

5. Bell Co.

6. Corbin

7. Tilghman

8. Garrard Co.

9. Mason Co.

10. Lawrence Co.

I give Corbin the edge over Bell though.

Last week in my eyes those teams played the same opponent. A 7-10 ranked 2A team on the road. Corbin won, Bell lost. Advantage Corbin.

I like 4chs list except for switch Central and Bourbon.

Hard to argue with the rankings if they are based on schedule strength. South may be a lot better than people are thinking even with the weak schedule. No one expected their defense to be holding people to an average of 6 point per game through this point in the season. Everyone thought that they would struggle against Warren East and E-town and really there wasn't any struggles. I honestly think that you can take 2 through 6 put them in a hat and pull them out and there couldn't be any arguments about the rankings there.

Good to see Lawrence getting some love. Finally.

For fun:

1. Belfry

2. Central

3. Bourbon County

4. South Warren

5. Corbin

6. Paducah Tilghman

7. Bell County

8. Lawrence County

9. Garrard County

10. Mason County

11. Russell

12. Pike Central

13. Wayne County

14. Henry County

15. Etown

16. Monroe County

17. Adair County

18. Estill County

19. Fleming County

20. West Carter

I think you are correct. And I also believe the gap between 6 and everyone else is noticeable. It will be interesting to see this all flesh out over the next few weeks.

I don't have any doubt these are pretty close to how the next two weeks rankings will look...then i DO believe there could be some drastic changes in the orders!!!

just saying.....IMO :ylsuper:

Middlesboro is better than Danville, at least in my opinion.

Belfry has put themselves on top of the slag pile in this race, but also there target grows bigger every week. They get everybodys best shot, every week.

The Bible says what don't kill ya is gonna make ya stronger - so them Pirate boys I guess will just keep getting better, or die trying.

As for the rest of this top ten, I can't really argue much about it. I do think I would put Louisville Central at #2 instead of Bourbon. They are playing some tough teams and ole Scroggy will have them Jackets ready when the playoffs come around. I don't think anybody in the west side is going to give them a serious challenge this year.

Looks like everybody on the list should pull out a win this week except Paducah and maybe Bell Co.

I wonder how long before the whispers start in Bell Co land about bringing back Uncle Dudley. My guess is if you hang out in the local barber shop you'd be hearing some of it already.

What happens if Bell beats Knox Central this week? Yeah they are talking in the barbershops about Dudley but it is time to move on from him. At some point and time Dudley will not be coaching again he isn't a spring chicken anymore.

If mason had lost 17 of the better players to graduation then I could get behind this. Lawrence is overrated as well. They beat breathitt pretty easily but I was told after they got rattled breathitt made it closer than what the score represents. I think pike central could possibly beat them as well. They should have beat them last year. I'm not so sure Russell couldn't give Lawrence a loss as well? After last Friday and the close game with Fairview there are a lot of question marks with them. In all reality I'm not sure it even matters once you get past belfry? They are above and beyond everyone. One of the better overall teams they've had.

I know it is just a scrimmage and you can't take much...but Lawrence handled Russell and supposedly was clearly the better team. Just fodder for discussion.
