  1. Don't make this thread about GK's you don't like. Let's keep it at the top 3 keepers you do like.
  2. Terrible announcing... It's a painful experience for the fans who come to watch the game. We can see every play on the field. We do not need a play by play account of it. Just stick to basic announcing. Please.
  3. Final on riherds. Game went to penalty kicks.
  4. St. Henry looked good at times. They have the ability to play well. They were the better team on the field last night. Brossart got lucky more than a few times with the ref rewarding floppers and imaginary fouls, and of course allowing the keeper to come off his line for the penalty kicks.
  5. It's not all the players' problem. Game day coaching decisions, player positions, player selection... It all contributes to the sometimes frenetic play on the field. They have come together at times, and it resulted in nice play, good results. I think it'll be marked down as "just one of those seasons ...".
  6. All I have to add to this thread is... Just when you think refs can't get any worse you get a crew like last night. Unbelievably bad. The keeper was clearly off his line for both penalty kicks that were saved. The AR was just ornamental, he made no correct calls, and looked like he had no idea of what was going on. At times the ref was the 12th man for Brossart. Disgraceful officiating. I agree that something will have to be done to get the players to mesh, but at this point I don't see what. Too many "personalities" disagreeing with each other, both on and off the field. It's too bad as with some of the talent there it had really good potential.
  7. Sports fora like bgp have been around for years. If someone thinks the content is going to be annoying, or disingenuous, or simply not what you want to hear or agree with, then it's best not to browse them. IMO.
  8. Yes, hard fought game with St. Henry dominating a lot of the time. The Crusaders made a few fine shots on goal, but were just unlucky. The Ryle goalie had a great game, including saving a well taken penalty kick by Dehner. St. Henry felt the loss of their varsity goalie and a few other key varsity players last night, absent due to illness and injury. The St. Henry JV goalie received a red card, so a lot was expected of the freshman goalie when he had to step in. Both Ryle goals came in the first half, one good goal from, I believe, Zane Seymore (?), and a pk. Can't recall you took the pk for Ryle.
  9. Apparently St. Henry will be missing a few key players tonight due to illness and injury. Could make for an interesting game.
  10. Apologies. I only glanced at their schedule and thought the Male game was next week.
  11. Not sure about 9/20 but 9/23 is at Male, which has been on the St. Henry schedule since the start of the season.
  12. At the moment, the dates that Cooper has available for matches don't work for other schools, including, I believe, St. Henry.
  13. Cooper wins 2-1. They are a more composed team, less volatile on the pitch, less likely to lose their cool and draw yellow or red cards.
  14. Judging by some if the officiating I've seen over the last few weeks, I wouldn't be holding my breath waiting for a good ref or AR.
  15. It's a bit of a stretch to think that Treadway, or any other good player, is so important or well known in Kentucky, not just nky, that the refs are trying to take him out of the game. It's understandable that the refs know about constant red card recipients, but Treadway doesn't fall into that category. A foul is a foul, no matter who the player is.
  16. That is a nice touch, and was appreciated by the team. St. Henry also keeps the tradition of feeding the out of town travelers
  17. St. Henry were denied a PK on a hand ball, the linesman called it, but the center ref said play on. Some of the refereeing seen so far this year leaves a lot to be desired. The result was only surprising to Trinity.
  18. Doesn't say much for the rest of your team... Looking forward to the Cooper and Cov Cath games even more now.
  19. Sounds like ScottEagle is throwing down the gauntlet... I'm putting the Cov Cath v Scott game 10/02/14 on my list to watch!
  20. A lot of Crusader fans noticed that move by Mayberry and applauded him for it. Great weather for soccer, although the earlier heavy rain left the pitch very slick. St. Henry subs got some nice playing time, and played well. St. Henry had lots of opportunities to score but couldn't find the net. The JV game ended St. Henry 2 Boone 0
  21. St. Henry started out strong and controlled the game easily for the first half, which allowed for a lot of the subs to get some time on the field. Boone came out with a little more intensity in the second half and kept the St. Henry defense busier, and forced Koking to make a couple of good saves. The score line should have been a lot higher for St. Henry, they had chances but failed to connect. Lannon sent some perfectly placed balls to feet in front of the goal, but they were sent wide or over. Lannon scored both goals for the Crusaders, with an assist from Sanders. Sorry, can't recall who scored for Boone.
