St Henry 2 Boone County 1

Featured Replies

Final from Erlanger.

St. Henry started out strong and controlled the game easily for the first half, which allowed for a lot of the subs to get some time on the field. Boone came out with a little more intensity in the second half and kept the St. Henry defense busier, and forced Koking to make a couple of good saves. The score line should have been a lot higher for St. Henry, they had chances but failed to connect. Lannon sent some perfectly placed balls to feet in front of the goal, but they were sent wide or over. Lannon scored both goals for the Crusaders, with an assist from Sanders. Sorry, can't recall who scored for Boone.

^Mayeberry scored for Boone. Nice player. Had good positioning and kept the pressure on throughout the game.

Speaking of Mayberry... after an infraction that was obviously unintentional, he stopped and helped the St. Henry player to his feet as the game continued down the field.

It was a fantastic night for soccer--weather was clear and cool. The only issue would be all the rain we had the night before created slick conditions on the field. Nothing you can do about that. Both sides slid around a bit. Lots of JV players stepped up for Boone and played commendably. Injuries and red cards leave Boone in a weakened position. On a positive note, the JV squad is playing quite well.

A lot of Crusader fans noticed that move by Mayberry and applauded him for it. Great weather for soccer, although the earlier heavy rain left the pitch very slick. St. Henry subs got some nice playing time, and played well. St. Henry had lots of opportunities to score but couldn't find the net.

I have to say that a lot has been said lately about the Boone County program. I saw a clean game played last night. Mayberry is a very good player and I hope that you guys are able to pull everything together now that you are back to full strength again.

This is how you follow a hick up in your program......not what is happening on the Scott/Calvary thread......

I haven't kept exact count but haven't two players been dismissed from the Boone team and 4 others were still on red card suspensions? That may help to keep things a little calm.

If the "usual suspects" are not there, it could be the reason. I for one, hope they put last week in their rearview mirror and move forward in a positive manner.
