Hard fought match, at times it seemed like St Henry was really controlling the game but just could not get one to go into the net. GK Will Bedel had a great game for Ryle. Both teams missing key players to sickness or injury. Goal for Siemer and Hugenburg. St Henry with 2-3 yellows and one red when the goalie came out of the box and tripped Kayed one on one, which would have been the third goal of the game for Ryle. In don't think a Raider was booked in this game but didn't see it all.

Yes, hard fought game with St. Henry dominating a lot of the time. The Crusaders made a few fine shots on goal, but were just unlucky. The Ryle goalie had a great game, including saving a well taken penalty kick by Dehner. St. Henry felt the loss of their varsity goalie and a few other key varsity players last night, absent due to illness and injury. The St. Henry JV goalie received a red card, so a lot was expected of the freshman goalie when he had to step in. Both Ryle goals came in the first half, one good goal from, I believe, Zane Seymore (?), and a pk. Can't recall you took the pk for Ryle.

Not sure that the third goal would have happened as the Ryle player was taking the ball even farther out to the side than he was when he was already outside of the frame and St. Henry had two defenders coming back into the play in the center when the foul occurred, but was definitely going to be an opportunity. Thought that red was a little severe for this, but I can understand the rationale for giving it as well.

 

I thought that the granting of a PK to Ryle in the first half was also a little questionable as it appeared that the Ryle player initiated the contact from my vantage point. Granted the ref is closer to the action. Seemed to be calling the game very tight in the first half and then really let things go in the second half.

 

All in all a well-played game with Ryle taking advantage of its opportunities and St. Henry just could not put the ball into the net despite a number of chances. They seem to be struggling with finding consistency and finishing. Congrats to Ryle on the win.
