Ludlow is 1-1. Still have to play Lloyd and Dixie. Definitely a big win for Lloyd tonight!

So where does that put Lloyd, Dixie, and St. Henry in the district standings?

What happened after the game? My daughter was working the game and just came home. She said it was a little chaotic afterwards.

She has also committed to Mount St . Joseph. Congrats to her!

Ludlow girls had a meeting a few weeks ago to meet their new coach. His name is Butch Hayes. I know very little about him except that he retired from the Kenton County system and is currently in the sub rotation at Ludlow.

Maybe at the middle school? I do not think they have a 2nd game at the high school location.

Panthers lost two seniors last year, one of them being their starting pitcher. They return 4 freshmen who started varsity as 8th graders. As 8th graders, two of those freshmen probably hit close to 0.300 if not above. These two freshmen will most likely be the pitcher and catcher as well (they both have some travel ball experience). Off the top of my head, I think there will be four seniors, one being Jayna Crawford who is a fantastic shortstop and just a great athlete in general. The Panthers have the issue in that there is no youth softball offered in Ludlow. If a girl wants to play, she has to play for NKB or NKYA (or another like organization to get started). That requires some parental involvement just to get the girls to practices and games. So most girls who play softball at Ludlow, don't play at all until they are in 7th grade and are on the school team. That definitely adds a wrinkle to coaching.

Last night was a good game. Probably the best Ludlow played all year. I'm not sure Villa was expecting a tight game. Ludlow's goalie is a senior, but a first year soccer player, Hayley Warndorf. She was great yesterday!

Evan Slone from Ludlow is starting on intra-squad scrimmages at Alderson Broaddus in West Virginia. AB won their conference last season and earned a berth to the D2 World Series. They return a solid roster of juniors and seniors from last year's team. AB has some fall games set up against other WV competition later in September and October. In June, Evan tore 3 ligaments in his ankle in a game at Midland and has spent his summer rehabbing. If he can continue to hit the ball, he will definitely see some playing time as a freshman.

Did he put himself out there? I just quickly looked at KY PBR and I did not see him listed as attending any events. PBR seems to be one of the first steps for any high school player in KY looking to play at the next level.

Varsity playing time does not count until freshman year. I believe Ryle is also getting 2020 Adrianna Lovell from Ludlow (she played quite a bit of varsity as an 8th grader and played summer ball with the Panthers). She's a very good point guard. It is my understanding that she will have a change of address.

Congrats to Mia. I'm sorry to see her go. I enjoyed watching her at Ludlow last season and I know the girls liked her.

Boone played in Ludlow's team camp this past week. There was a coach on their bench, an ex Conner guy. I think his last name is Roller or something similar. Boone has a couple of girls who are very nice players.

I was not at this game, but just sat through a similar game with my daughter's team. I thought her coach handled it well.....the umpire opened up the strike zone. The girls swung and made contact. They also quit running. Went to t-ball running rules, one base per hit, no stealing and runners only advanced one base. Once you hit the run rule--step off and end the game.

Ludlow was up 1-0 into the 5th inning. Then the proverbial wheels fell off the defense and Dixie struck hard.

It was a good game. As stated below, both pitchers Eades and Seiter were fantastic on the mound. Ludlow had some miscues in the outfield that they need to not continue to make. It was a good game to watch.

That's fantastic! Bellevue must've played two games last night. I know they played Ludlow @ Ludlow last night as well.

TC Eades and Briley Seiter pitched fantastic games today. Panthers need to shore up their defense.

I saw on the PBR twitter feed last week that Ramey is transferring from Georgetown. Any idea where he is looking?
