Congrats to the Colonels on the W and to Griffin Smallwood ( 14 Ks ) on the complete game. Dixie heights was led by seniors Keegan Barmore and Jared Mamo with 2 hits. Barmore and Barrett had 2 RBIs.

 

E. Slone led Ludlow with three hits.

Ludlow was up 1-0 into the 5th inning. Then the proverbial wheels fell off the defense and Dixie struck hard.

The game was much closer than the final score indicates. Ludlow was winning 1 to 0 in the top of the 5th. After the 1st inning ludlow had trouble putting the ball in play as evident by the 14 strikeouts. Ludlow has to cut down on strikeouts and put the ball in play and make the other team have to field it. Dylan vogt pitched a good game for ludlow even though the score doesn't show that.

 

I still think ludlow could surprise some people come District time. Still looks to be trying to find their best lineup defensively and offensively with the dh by District tournament time. Come District time records don't mean anything and anything can happen.

 

Big game coming up against Lloyd Tuesday for the 3 seed in the district.

Smallwood pitched a gem and Dylan Vogt pitched a solid game too.

 

Slone and Smallwood had some good battles... I think it went full count almost everytime they faced each other... I think Slone finished 3-4 though.

 

As others have said, it was a good game for most of the way. Saw some good pitching and good hitting for sure.
