Haley Meyers and Jaden Watts throw back to back No-Hitters tonight, as the Breds down Scott in the 1st game 10-0 in 5 innings and Bellevue 8-0 in the 7 inning night cap. Both games had one spectacular play in the field to preserve each NO-NO.

 

In the 1st game of the "twin-bill", NewCath Jr., Haley Meyers, is a 5th inning lead-off walk away from throwing a perfect game, but settles for the 10-0 5 inning NO-NO, her 3rd of the year and 14 of her varsity career. Kathryn Schreiber, Kennedy Bin, Jenna Fryer, & Kacy Zimmerman with 2 hits each. Bin and Alex Burkart with half the RBI's, Bin 2 run double and RBI single and Burkart with a 2-run triple. Meyers would record 9 K's in the game.

 

Meyer's NO-NO almost went by the wayside in the 4th. With one out Courtney Cheeseman hits a shot to right that is hooking towards the line, but the Breds rightfielder, Alex Burkart, gives chase and at the last moment fully extends and with her momentum taking her to the ground, she rolls on the ground and presents the ball from her glove for the out.

 

In the night-cap in a district seeding game, Breds So., Jaden Watts throws her 1st career varsity No-Hitter in a 7 inning 8-0 defeat of the Bellevue Tigers. Watts would strikeout 7 and walk 2, and the Breds defense was busy recording 21/22 total chances (lone error on a dropped ball at 1st). NewCath Fr. catcher Kacy Zimmerman with an RBI sac-bunt & 2 run single, and Fr. 2nd basemen, Bailey Gray with an RBI ground-out and single to lead the Breds.

 

Bailey Gray also came up with a No-Hit saving WebGem in the top of the 6th. Breanna Jones leads off the Tigers 6th with a sinking flare over the 1st basemen destined for "pay-dirt" in no-mans land, but Gray hustles and on the run before the rightfield grass near the line she comes up with the catch.

That's fantastic! Bellevue must've played two games last night. I know they played Ludlow @ Ludlow last night as well.

NewCath was at home and played Scott at 5:30, while Bellevue was at Ludlow for a 5:00 tilt, then the Tigers traveled to Newport to play the Breds after their came with the Panthers.
