She should be back within 3 months, stronger, faster and more stable on her knee. Louisville has been a real class act with backing her 110%. We are all very proud to be a part of the Cardinal Family.

That is correct, she is having knee surgery next week- so the ceremony had to be this friday.

Shelby Graybill have her signing ceremony to play for U of L today at 3:00 pm at HHS -

You will think tougher when you see a kid take one to the orbital socket. The sound is something you will NEVER forget! Why chance it? To be tough? So YOU think they are tough? They are young ladies- who wants to wear that scar for the rest of their life!? Have you seen how fast and hard the ball comes off the bat- get a little tougher? seriously... smh! :ohbrother:

If I'm the coach and a player on my team doesn't bother to run to first, stomps around and behaves that way. she'd be riding the pine as a permanent position.

What could possibly be going on in a college coaches world during High School softball season? hmmm. maybe they are traveling the country playing games and getting ready for the big dance themselves. They dont care that lil suzie threw a no hitter against Tim Buck Too H.S.! And for the record, unless you are a pitcher or catcher.. the D1, D2 levels are full of lights out defensive players- They want production at the plate against the best competition and the things you cannot teach, power, speed and intensity in your presence on and off the field. Those things are not tracked in the paper- sorry.

HHS has a very young outfield, but Brooke Dill, Kara Fornash, and Chloe Jansen all are making great strides in the outfield and HUGE impacts at the plate!

Congrats to the girls that are on the Enquirer's list of players to watch! I anticipate HHS having an even bigger section of that list next year! Whatch out 9th region, THIS team is loaded Offense & defense! This will be a fun team to watch!

I am excited to see some of the hard working underclassmen that have put in tons of offseason work and time in the work out facility get a shot at a vital starting spot! Nothing like good competition to shake things up a bit. Cant wait... hard work beats talent unless talent works hard! Go Birds!! counting down!!

These ladies are chomping at the bit to get on the dirt! Many of these young ladies are working their tail feathers off, either in the weight room, at college level camps and clinics, or on their own at the fields hitting, helping one another improve- Swinging a bat in the basement in their down time. The fire has been lit, they have tasted what's possible! This year and next will be a very driven, hard-to-beat, all out kinda team! It's a beautiful thing to watch the hard work of these girls inspire the young girls in the area to get more involved, to work hard- to play like a bluebird! Proud Bluebird FP Mom right here!!!

I would not want to put a few power hitters I know up at the plate with some very young, inexperienced players and have something tragic happen. I have seen it first hand with elite travel players- not having time to react quick enough to save themselves from injury! So things happen, if you can protect your infielders and pitcher from something that could at minimum change lives, if not destroy or take them-- why are you so against mandating the mask? I cringe every time my daughter gets up to the plate and the girl on 3rd is not wearing a mask. I know her bat speed, I know the power she can generate, I fear for the girl standing there with only her wits and a glove to protect her. Tell me is it worth it, after HS ball, most will never play again, and then what- after college- even fewer... why risk a life altering injury? I've seen it, heard it- it isn't pretty! What does it prove to not wear one?

The struggle is going to be getting in to the better tournaments as a new unknown team. You really need to align yourself with an organization for namesake that has a solid reputation going in or you will find yourself only getting accepted into the money generating tournaments. You want the bang for your buck of playing solid competition and getting quality exposure on a larger than high school ball stage. Otherwise, your wasting your time, energy and money.

We visited BGSU with Kiley and she and Shelby played together at 9u/10u for the Cincy Doom team. It will be fun watching them play together again. Shelby is a year younger than Kiley. But thank you for the congratulations! BGSU will be a huge force in the MAC, for sure!

It will be a travel ball reunion on the D1 dirt!! can't wait to see all the girls i've watched grow up play at the D1 level! Proud Mom!

Travel try outs for the upcoming fall and 2015 summer season should be starting the first of Aug. If your daughter is interested, you think she may have the raw ability- get her signed up to tryout. Most are free tryouts, and you will be able to gauge truly where she stands, see what it takes and if nothing more - learn what you need to work on to play at that next level! I know of several great organizations locally, that travel based on team level talent. (cincy Static- is at the top of my list) If you have questions, ask- There are a several great travel ball resources reading this thread that can help to point you in the right direction. Keep in mind this is travel-ball Nationals time of year, so they may be busy as well. You never know unless you try, and in my DD's case it was the perfect step for her. As I type she's flying to California to play in the PGF National Tourney with the Louisville Lady Sluggers, Premiere Team!

Definitely!~ The plays were great, close plays - My DD (catcher for HHS) was involved with Both, what i felt, questionable calls. The slide by got finke on second, the pics show that bc from the stands the throw was dead on and a great throw from Leighty in Right to the tag at the plate, seemed like it should have gone in our favor. IMO the pictures show that- but the umps dont get the luxory of 12 photos per second photgraphy! I love watching the BIRDS and Panda's go at it! Some really great kids on both teams, very talented atheletes and always worth the price of admission!
