I think the unfortunate nature of this call is that one ref is going to see it one way and another is going to to see it another way. It wasn't until we saw the video did people start having some doubt on the call. While I don't personally agree with the call it really doesn't matter. The officials that worked this game are there for a reason. Are they going to make every call correctly, probably not, but they are there for a reason. I feel bad for the NCC boys, in time they will realize that they will learn more from this loss than they know.

Better late than never. Great game to watch. Congrats to both teams for putting on such a great Regional Final game. S/o to a very good Holmes team and for having a very nice season. Big S/o to the CCH student section, always entertaining to see what they will do next. Can't wait to see what they come up with for next year. I believe I've said it before I believe. High school kids always seem to surprise with me with acts like this. Total class act by both the Desert Chapel coaches and players. That one shot meant more to this young player than any championship game.. Awesome...

I think it will come down to the containment of both teams guards and how strong each teams insides are.

Fun game to watch. Outcome didn't end up as hoped for the Mustangs but it was good year for the boys. Congrats to the 6 seniors and the rest of the Mustang team.

Unreal block and couldn't have been timed any better for Dixie. Was wondering if the game was physical at all? Thought Dixie played better when it was and based on it going to OT I was wondering if it didn't or it was called tight by the men in stripes? Nice W for the Red Colonels...

I would agree you can't add him to that list, if he was averaging 20+ points a night and was the focal point of all NCC conversations then there might be something there. I think there something to say about players that make their teams better while not putting all the attention on themselves. There are several players I can think of from teams in the 9th that while on the floor things flow better and make their teammates better. This would make for an interesting conversation.

This was more what I was thinking. It wasn't the bigs posting up and being in position, it should have been about the guards making the passes inside. These boys can make the pass, I just wonder about the hesitation of not making the pass it. Passing is def a lost art which is very hard to master. Nick R does a nice job of firing the bullet passes inside, he is just one that comes to mind. I'm not playing in these fast pace high pressure games, so don't want to give the opinion that I"m second guessing them. Just trying to understand if that is possible.

I think TAC was correct that the Cru made life harder for the NCC bigs but as I mentioned I thought there was times during the game that the guards could have looked inside more giving those big guys more opportunities. The ball was swung at times I felt by relex and not by looking & understanding what is going on the floor and swinging it.

You mentioned CVH here and I think he is one that gets overshadowed by others on the team. A hard nose player that always seems to be in the right spot to drain the shot. He's got a little more height than Nick, does a nice job driving the lane when needed, but has not shown the range that Nick has as of yet. Time will tell and will be fun keeping my eye on this kid throughout his HS career. To the CCH ppl on here, do you see him taking the lead and running the offense for the next 3 years? I would think so.

I agree, my comment was not to take anything away Noble, Kunstek and how they played. It may only have been just a few times I noticed this that stood out in my head. The times I noticed Shulte and McDonald posting up in a good position and not getting the ball and honestly it didn't look like the guards were looking to go inside. Just wondering why you don't use your height advantage when you have it. All NCC players seem to be very unselfish when someone gets open. I could totally be looking to deep into it which is why I was looking for another perspective. Thanks.

Did anyone notice any frustrations by the NCC bigs inside tonight? Tonight was a perfect opportunity for both Shulte & McDonald to have seasons high but the ball was just not getting inside. Just think that not involving the bigs (Weyer included) starting Sunday could be the death of them.

Not been a huge Mark Shult fan this year but last night might have swayed me some. He set the ton of the game last night when he came out and dropped the trey and didn't look back. Played a very solid game last night both inside and outside. Congrats to Ryle on a nice season. I applaud them for trying to fight back till the bitter end.

I feel as long as they play each team within their district once during the year and I believe there also is a minimum number of games they have to play. I'm guessing they have to be KHSAA schools knowing they also play in another league that is not KHSAA. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Really like Erik Reiger, nice kid and hard working player. From the games I've seen with throughout the 10th there are a lot of players that are not their spotlight players but deserve the recognition. Nice thread..

I do think Cordia came into the spotlight partial because of the number of transfers but I don't think it helped when Rhodes said they wanted to be a Prep school helped. I could be wrong.

I think the weather may have some doing with the student sections on the the CCH/DH, NCC/Holmes DH but you have to applaud the CCH / NCC student bodies, they appeared to come in full force. It was an entertaining night on and off the court.

Another thing is that officials can only work for one assoc within the state (guys can work for both KY & OH at the same time). That region is affiliated with a certain region (or 2 in some cases) to cover their game. Its rare that we see officials work games in other regions during the year because there are different assignors who handle those regions. Not saying it doesn't happen but just not that often.
