Short of playing starters too long or pressing the rest is fair game.

I get that you can't tell players not to shoot but have them throw the ball around, work openings, use the game to practice moves and, of course, put in your reserves and save your starters for the next round. Plenty of ways NOT to hit the 100!

Its tournament time, maybe Heritage should not be in it if they cannot compete, matter of fact not maybe, they should not, especially when they don't play a district schedule.

2. Starters played 7 minutes.

3. Leading scorer was a kid who rarely plays.

I am inclined to agree to a certain degree with "nostupidexcuses". If Heritage don't play a district schedule how are they involved in the playoffs? I'll have to take a look at their regular schedule and see who they do play.

I once slowed a game down due to a considerable advantage my team had and the opposing coach threatened to knock my teeth out if I didn't have my boys play hard. He understood but the parents of his team didn't. I was in a no win situation.

Heritage might have 15 kids per grade.

Then no one should complain when they get beat by 50+ points. I don't think the kids deserve the embarrassment of this, so if they deserve to play in the tournament, your saying they deserve to get a beat down.

I am sure they fully expected to lose by a large margin. And I certainly was not complaining about the score. At some schools, playing high school basketball is more about how you play the game than whether you win or lose, or about how much you lose by. A school always has the option of not playing in the district tournament. I am glad that most schools choose to play and compete as best they can.

I feel as long as they play each team within their district once during the year and I believe there also is a minimum number of games they have to play. I'm guessing they have to be KHSAA schools knowing they also play in another league that is not KHSAA.

I don't believe there is a requirement that they play each team in their district during the regular season. For example, these two teams did not play in the regular season. If there was such a requirement, a school like Heritage would need to decide whether to comply with that requirement or forego participating in the district tournament.
