  1. Having watched both teams multiple times this year, the result of this game did not surprise me. After the Highlands upset in their first meeting, there was absolutely no way ND was going to walk off the field with a loss last night. I predict ND has very little trouble with Boone County. In the 9th Region, like it or not, ND gets the best soccer players (cuts a bunch that could start at other programs) and everyone else is just playing for second.
  2. I like Tolle but Morris and even Zoller would have to be ranked higher. 15 of Tolle's goals came against Conner, Dayton, Bellevue and Oneida Baptist....not exactly stellar competition. I'm researching the others now.
  3. I'm sorry if my post struck a chord with Brossart fans. I know what was said to me and complimented those parents for their class. Names are not allowed in this forum and would only subject those BB parents to all kinds of abuse from other BB parents anyway. Although I only knew 1 of the 4 that spoke to me, suffice to say, I can safely assume that none of the BB fans that have commented here spoke to me after the game.
  4. First half foul count was 12 CC 1 Brossart when I stopped counting. Multiple Brossart players have mastered the flop. The Brossart player did receive a yellow card on the play BigDaddy refers to according to the coaches. What I observed was a Brossart player launching herself into the head of the CC player well after the ball had been cleared. I would add the same Brossart player dove onto the CC goalie well after she had secured the ball. A foul was called but no card given. When you add in the apologies of Brossart parents and their embarrassment, I feel that I observed the game correctly.
  5. Campbell County was able to overcome horrible officiating to pull out the 3-0 victory. Hats off to the Brossart parents who expressed their embarrassment and apologies for the dirty play displayed by one of their own last night. Good luck to both teams.
  6. OPOY: Morris from SK and Watts from ND DPOY: Meg Martin NCC MVP: Zoeller from SK
  7. I agree with Sir.....Campbell is appropriately ranked. Given what they lost from last year's team, a repeat as region champs would be an astonishing accomplishment. My 9th region prediction: NDame.
  8. This was clearly a case of Campbell County being outcoached. A 5 point lead with 1:15 left and CC decides to press Brossart. Brossart's big girls had no trouble breaking the press all night.....many coast to coast layups. CC played right into their hands. Congrats to Brossart!
  9. Should have been more specific......the "any official" part was in reference to the information provided to the fans that a KHSAA official had checked the field before the game and declared it playable. I'm just happy that no one from either team suffered an injury last night.
  10. Not even a full sized Radio Flyer at that! Why any official would allow this game to take place on such a field is beyond my comprehension. Add in the disgusting bathrooms and the nasty seating to complete the experience!
  11. My only prediction is that we'll all have to hear that little Brossart dad screaming and coaching his daughter through the entire game.
  12. Game has been moved to Scott High School at 2:30 Saturday
  13. Championship game scheduled for 2:30 at Scott High School.
  14. Only question remaining for Highlands this year is which will come first: resignation or termination?
  15. I agree with the comment about the Ryle announcer......draws way too much attention to himself. The only one worse would be whoever called the Bishop Brossart/Campbell County District final game at Scott.
  16. Great game. Such a pleasure beating a team with the most knowledgeable fans in the world. If you don't believe me, just ask any of their parents.
  17. I've got no dog in the fight but I will say it's been incredibly entertaining reading the Highlands threads this season. From those that I have spoken with, Birdie has been a very accurate source of information to date. Kings has made several good points through the season as well. I would add that most, if not nearly all of the HHS underclassmen will return next year along with a new coach. I predicted this would be a one year coach after watching their first game and nothing I've seen or heard has made me change my mind. If HHS and the parents don't get a new engineer, the train will remain off of the tracks.
  18. That feeling you get in your stomach after seeing CC hand it to you in your house on Senior Day.
  19. I guess I must have seen the "not much yelling or screaming."
  20. Coaches Poll - Week 2 1. Notre Dame (33) 2. Sacred Heart 3. West Jessamine (6) 4. Assumption (3) 5. Tates Creek 6. Dupont Manual 7. Owensboro Catholic 8. Scott County 9. Lexington Catholic 10. Oldham County 11. Marshal County 12. Bowling Green 13. South Odham 14. Christian Academy-Louisville 15. Greenwood 16. Henry Clay 17. Campbell County 18. Elizabethtown 19. Newport Central Catholic 20. Boyle County 21. Highlands 22. Ryle 23. Paul Laurence Dunbar 24. Male 25. Bishop Brossart Well, look what we have here. Not sure how Oldham stays ahead of Campbell County after CC beat Oldham 4-0, but they'll keep climbing.
  21. I could see the "Highlands major trainwreck" during the game against Campbell County and the reaction of the coach toward his players after the game. I'm going to predict he's gone after this season.
  22. Campbell takes down #4 Oldham County 4-0 while Highlands goes down 5-0 to Lexington Catholic. Highlands obviously overrated.
  23. Campbell County has already beaten Highlands 2-0 (wasn't even close) and Elizabethtown 1-0. Better watch out for the Lady Camels.
