Nice showing by NKY! 4 teams in the top 13 and a total of 5 in the top 25.

The ninth region will be a dog fight. I think ND, NCC, or Highlands all could win the 9th region. It will come down to who wants it the most, who can minimize the mistakes, and has the best game plan.

ND will win the 9th Region........bet on it.

Way to get out there on that limb.

Interesting to see some differences between this poll and the Maher rankings.

Looks like SK getting the benefit of a coach well known in the coaches circle. They are ranked to high in IMO.

I'm not sure I agree SK is too high. They have beaten South Oldham and Male rather convincingly and are two team ranked in the top 10 most of the season. They did lose to ND and Highlands by a goal each. Both extremely competitive games and could have gone either way, a little better luck on a bounce here and their and the outcome could easily have been different. So I'm not sure how you think they should be much lower.

The girls have bought in to the new coach and were all playing different roles at the beginning of the year and have improved leaps and bounds game to game. They are not as deep as I'm sure they would like to be but they have a lot of speed and skill and solid goal keeping.

I think the appropriate response is. SK's new coach has made a huge impact to their program and should be up for the coach of the year. He has essentially taken a team with the same talent that was a sub .500 team and turned them around into a Regional contender.

This coming from a person that doesn't know him at all. Just find his turnaround impressive.

I don't see how your statement of ' getting a benefit' is fair when they have done such a remarkable job.

ND will win the 9th Region........bet on it.

Counting those chickens before there hatched.

Why they play the games.

I didn't say they weren't better than last year but I don't see many quality games or wins for that matter. The coach is well respected in Louisville and the coaches that haven't seen all the teams might send a vote his way. I still think all NKY is down.

If all of N KY is down, I would like to see when they are doing really well. There are 3 teams in the top 10 of the state, (ND, Ncc, and SK), 2 in the top 25, Highland and St. Henry. Also, Boone County has been banged up all year or they would be in the top 25 as well. Also, Brossart and Campbell County have had a good year.

In recent memory has N KY had a better year with so many teams this high in the rankings? I feel this year has been a strong year for teams from N KY.
