Buddy1968 Posted October 4, 2014 Posted October 4, 2014 3 shots on goal for CC and NDA could not finish on over 20 shots. Selfish play by the freshman and sophomores on NDA WILL cost them a shot at a State Championship this year. Playing like you do in U15 and U16 club ball does not cut it in high school at a varsity level. It's a shame that girls are playing their hearts out and get no help from the younger players who consistently blame others and don't hustle but instead hang their heads and give up when they are not involved. If they are not the ones who are scoring then they don't care!!!
PressureTheBall Posted October 4, 2014 Posted October 4, 2014 Oh please, a kick in the direction of the goal is not a kick on goal. Anybody can kick it at the goal from 30-35 yards. 3-5 at most of the shots were legit and the vast majority were off frame or of no threat. Why not just congratulate the Lady Camels on a very good team effort instead of making it sound like NDA controlled the whole game because they didn't? You sure your not a Highlands fan/parent that posted in the wrong thread?
CALL IT LIKE I KNOW Posted October 4, 2014 Posted October 4, 2014 Great job by the Lady Camels. One of the best games I have seen each team play. The keeper for the Lady Camels did well and did their Sweeper. I think Buddy1968 is too harsh on the Panda's as they did have quite a few shots on goal, but the Camel Keeper stepped up and made plays. One of the better officiated games too. The only problem here was the wind, cold up there on the hill watching two teams that you are not affiliated with.
Buddy1968 Posted October 4, 2014 Author Posted October 4, 2014 Not a parent of a soccer player at all. Just like good high school sports. I apologize if I was too rough as I only saw the second half after watching the first half of the CCH/Beechwood game. CC did play very well and the keeper was outstanding. Just the impressions of a old man.
neilman1234 Posted October 4, 2014 Posted October 4, 2014 Congrats to the Lady Camels! They were pressured the whole game and packed it in and hung tough. They made the most of their limited opportunities and had a "bend but don't break" mentality on defense. How about giving them a little more credit for their play and their role in the win?

Technically......if the the ball is played by the opposing team towards the goal and if the keeper comes out and gathers it in, and had not the keeper a'gone a'gathering, the ball would have gone in......a shot on goal.......it doesn't define the quality of shot though.....

What I saw was an off game by several NDA players and a CC team that worked hard and played smart and a CC coach who knew what he was doing. Edited October 4, 2014 by True blue (and gold)

Saying the same thing. I just chose to use non-technical sarcasm.
Oldtimebaseball84 Posted October 4, 2014 Posted October 4, 2014 On the boys side....the complaints are always that club level is way more advance than HS .....Even to the point that HS is a waste. Is that different on the girls side.
frankdracman23 Posted October 4, 2014 Posted October 4, 2014 Camels do not score a lot and don't blow out teams they should, but when they are on against good competition they are tough
PressureTheBall Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 How can getting "20 shots goal" equate to a selfish game? What I saw was an off game by several NDA players and a CC team that worked hard and played smart and a CC coach who knew what he was doing. Ever consider that maybe the perceived off game was a result of the play of the Lady Camels? Quit making excuses, since excuse making is the response of losers and NDA's program is too good for making excuses. What I saw was they got out played the 1st half and CC got out played the 2nd. Another thing to consider is maybe it was karma for not taking part and respecting the before game prayer by their former coach. I found that odd especially at a Catholic school.
Oldtimebaseball84 Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Wasn't there......please explain the prayer situation. Are you saying that the Campbell county PUBLIC school took part in prayer?
PressureTheBall Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 I have no idea if they took part in the prayer, but they were respectful of the PA request about the prayer. Stood quietly in their positions while NDA coach and players were being loud and huddling. If they did participate, it was their choice and a good one imo. Wasn't trying to make this a public/private debate about religion, just found it a little odd.
Oldtimebaseball84 Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Thanks for the info......all for prayer before the game, but pretty sure there was some type of lawsuits and judgement about it in public schools..... Catholic schools usually get their praying in on the way to the games.......especially CCH and NDA if they use cch's buses........it usually goes something like "dear Lord, please get us to the field without breaking down......"
soccerfun Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Agree with the prayer thing being odd. Also think NDA attracts a lot of girls that are only there because they or their parents think they will get a better soccer scholarship. This makes showoffs. Do all the sophomores play on the same club team? Is it true these same girls have sisters playing for other schools?
