Agree with the prayer thing being odd. Also think NDA attracts a lot of girls that are only there because they or their parents think they will get a better soccer scholarship. This makes showoffs. Do all the sophomores play on the same club team? Is it true these same girls have sisters playing for other schools?

 

That would be about a $30,000 gamble then.

Just to throw it out there but aren't most soccer scholarships partial? Divide a college soccer program $ among 25 players?

No soccerfun. All the sophmores do not play on the same team. But yes some of them have sisters that play for other schools.

Thanks for the info......all for prayer before the game, but pretty sure there was some type of lawsuits and judgement about it in public schools.....

 

 

Correct. Some courts have ruled a public school cannot have a prayer over the PA system.

I was at the game. The before-game prayer thing is not a big issue. The only thing to say about it is that it's unfortunate that the NDA players seemed to be unaware of what was happening. They were huddling up and getting fired up simultaneously as the announcement came over the PA for prayer. They were hooting and hollering as the prayer was being recited. It was sort of awkward, but they had no clue what was happening around them. It's not their fault. Someone should've given them a heads up. Then the prayer ends and the NDA players take their positions on the field and there was an awkward silence. I still think they had no clue what was going on. Again, not the NDA players' fault.

What I did find mildly disrespectful was the musical montage that was played at the start of the game with a voice saying "nobody comes into our house and pushes us around". Kind of arrogant if you ask me.

That sounds more reasonable than complaining about the lack of prayer from the Catholic School......from an outsider.

Nothing uncivil. Score reported and opinion stated. Isn't BGP a forum for opinions? The Highlands coach has coached my daughter at Kings and has been nothing but professional. I consider him a decent guy. I was being sarcastic as I think the personal attacks are ridiculous just like the post you deleted.

Congrads CC. Another thread basically said that ND had no competition in NKY and would breeze through districts. I said they are beatable and not surprised by this game. ND is still the favorite but several teams will have a chance to knock them off in playoffs. I do think this game might wake ND up and have them playing more aggressive in playoffs though.

3 shots on goal for CC and NDA could not finish on over 20 shots. Selfish play by the freshman and sophomores on NDA WILL cost them a shot at a State Championship this year. Playing like you do in U15 and U16 club ball does not cut it in high school at a varsity level. It's a shame that girls are playing their hearts out and get no help from the younger players who consistently blame others and don't hustle but instead hang their heads and give up when they are not involved. If they are not the ones who are scoring then they don't care!!!

 

Congrats to CC! Nice job. As far as the matter concerning the group of freshman and sophomores, I am friends with several parents of NDA players who have been complaining about that issue all year. Still a great win for CC.

Is the KHA red team changing from last year? They should be even better this year with 6 of them playing together year round. Should make for a great club season.
