  1. Sorry, I should have provided more detail. This event is for NKY players, class of 2017. I am happy to send you an invite if you would like to head this way, should be fun to watch.
  2. On Wednesday, June 7th, they will be holding a Senior All Star match at Tower Park. The match is scheduled to start at 6:00pm.
  3. Agree, I could not believe the play over the last 20 minutes, pretty high level of play by both teams. On the particular sequence you mentioned, I thought for sure he would call a foul on the initial contact with the goalie, luckily he got up and was able to get to the ball.
  4. KHA U19 Red beat a very tough KFJ team in OT by a score of 5-3 in the semis on Saturday. KHA moved on to play 4 time winner LFC, in the finals, they were able to pull out a 4-3 win in a back and forth Championship.
  5. If this thread is about 8th graders, I would say that the title is very misleading. IMO, they are not "Highlands hoopsters" until they play for HHS.
  6. Sounds similar to our squads roster. We are playing U19/20 and I believe that 11 of our players are actually U18.
  7. I watched this match yesterday. Your Pumas played very well and some awesome play by the goalie saw them leading 1-0 late in the first half. I was sitting right behind their goalie the first half, I think it was unfortunate that Javanon was able to get the two late goals just before the half.
  8. In terms of HS teammates, between the two teams, I think there are 15 kids that are from either St Henry, or Covington Catholic.
  9. Get ready to listen my friend... he was also named the MVP!!!
  10. The bolded is definitely the case in this match up, I am aware of at least 9 of these boys having actually played for both teams in recent years.
  11. I am not sure his message will be heard, at least not by those who need to hear it most. I worry that the biggest culprits in no way see themselves as being part of the problem.
  12. They are definitely boys teams... Goldick won their age group last year, the Nichols team has been together for several years.
  13. If so, this has to put him in a very select group. I knew he was selected to the 2nd Team his sophomore season, and the 3rd Team last year, I did not realize he was also selected his freshman year.
  14. No matter what, US Soccer will get their cut. This week I bought tickets for The International Cup (Man City/Tottenham) being played in Nashville, there was a fee that went to US Soccer, I think it was 5%.
  15. Your fees at the state level will cover you if your selected as part of the state team that goes to regions. If you make the regional squad (hold over pool), there is a fee for that. In the past KY covered this fee for the players, I do not know if this is still the case.
  16. I agree with both points made above, it is unusual for a freshman to make a big impact at the varsity level. I would also advocate that we wait and see if he plays substantial minutes at the Varsity level rather than relying on the opinion of @Soccerking. As for ODP, making the Regional squad is a nice accomplishment. As recent as a few years ago, they typically took about 22-26 kids, sometimes slightly more. This past season there were over 100 players named to the Region II pool, I have no insight as to why there has been such an increase in numbers but I do not see how this can be a good thing.
  17. Taking basketball too serious, and what these people did, are completely different things in my book.
  18. Your generalization is only based on numbers you are throwing out there, if you don't have any data to back it up, I give it no credibility. Can't you see that you are lumping millions of fans with the actions of dozens, maybe even hundreds.... of idiotic fans.
  19. You ought to use a smaller brush, a small group is not a good sampling for such a broad generalization on your part.
