I am not sure his message will be heard, at least not by those who need to hear it most. I worry that the biggest culprits in no way see themselves as being part of the problem.

They are definitely boys teams... Goldick won their age group last year, the Nichols team has been together for several years.

If so, this has to put him in a very select group. I knew he was selected to the 2nd Team his sophomore season, and the 3rd Team last year, I did not realize he was also selected his freshman year.

No matter what, US Soccer will get their cut. This week I bought tickets for The International Cup (Man City/Tottenham) being played in Nashville, there was a fee that went to US Soccer, I think it was 5%.

Your fees at the state level will cover you if your selected as part of the state team that goes to regions. If you make the regional squad (hold over pool), there is a fee for that. In the past KY covered this fee for the players, I do not know if this is still the case.

I agree with both points made above, it is unusual for a freshman to make a big impact at the varsity level. I would also advocate that we wait and see if he plays substantial minutes at the Varsity level rather than relying on the opinion of @Soccerking. As for ODP, making the Regional squad is a nice accomplishment. As recent as a few years ago, they typically took about 22-26 kids, sometimes slightly more. This past season there were over 100 players named to the Region II pool, I have no insight as to why there has been such an increase in numbers but I do not see how this can be a good thing.

Agree 100%. E-town is very nice but Grand Park is literally E-town 3 times over. In the past year they have actually added some indoor fields.

A two way street... This is what I have been thinking while reading this entire thread. Who knows, maybe he did have some discussions with NKU at some point and time and there might not have been mutual interest. If so, no reason for them to pursue him, even if they were interested. I have been through the recruiting process, many people seem to forget that there are two parties that must be in agreement. Another important factor that seems to be dismissed is just because someone might give you a better offer, it might not be the best fit for the player, or at all what the player is looking for.

I was not there to see a video either... I will have to say it was pretty cool and I am betting that most of the players would agree.

I was really hoping for an all NKY Final. I have been running some numbers, and different scenario's, since you posted this and no matter which way I look at it, I keep coming up with the same answer..... We will never know.

Further to some of the comments above... At the DI level, very few get full rides in any sport other than Basketball, or Football, I believe that these two are the only ones that are done by head count. Simply put, if you get a scholly in these sports, it is a full ride. As for the amount of scholarships available in other sports, the numbers are much less and they are typically awarded as rjs4470 states. These numbers are set as maximums by the NCAA, if programs are not fully funded by the schools these numbers will be even less.

Why 2 teams? Your comment was "by quite a margin", just one team would throw a wrench in that statement. IMO, it is way too early to know exactly who ends up returning for each team, or who a team just might pick up. Just to humor you, I will throw Fern Creek and Scott Co out there.

I'm guessing the Friday afternoon, and Saturday, sessions were the two best in terms of attendance. Simply a guess based off what I saw in the seats.

Age will not be a barrier for HS, he will not turn 19 until his senior season.
