Injuries take a toll on a team, Ryle has seen this before in the past and they should be proud of the season they had.

Go for a 2 point conversion up 34?

I am perplexed by this. On one hand you want to put a team out of their misery early and getting the running clock and putting in back-ups will prevent you from running up the score and on the other hand, you want your starters to get the kind of minutes to prepare them for future games. Either way, you trust your coaching staff to make the right decision for the situation you are in. -
Does Ryle have any chance in the 6A Playoffs?

Lost DL Pendleton on the 5th defensive play of the game and another DL early in the second quarter. When you are going against a tough run offense, losing DL is a real problem. -
Does Ryle have any chance in the 6A Playoffs?
KY Outsider replied to theguru's topic in KY Football (High School)
Yes, last year Ryle was ranked 2 in 6A when they ran into injury problems in the 3rd round against Scott County. This is a new year and new playoff season and it is a tall order to win 5 in a row but every team has to try and somebody’s going to do it. I think a 3rd round exit will probably be the case this year but Ryle played a tough schedule this year and I would think as a whole they are better prepared for that reason. -

Trinity is big, strong, fast and has a lot of kids. CovCath is good but I don't think this will be much of a game for Trinity. -

Ryle's freshman team improved as the season went along, they were plagued with losing a lot of turnovers but with a lot of players learning new positions as the year went along, they will be better for it in the long run. -

Very well coached team and respectful players. -
Building projects for new schools are so massive, to get the best for the student body some times skimping on athletic facilities is required. When you are dealing with budgets, you can't get everything everybody wants.
-
Good luck to all the NKY teams in the playoffs. We should pull together for everybody.
-
So true, but Ryle has more play makers on the team and spreading the ball around makes the team that much better.
-
Ryle’s defense has come a long way this season. They should be good enough for a least a couple rounds.

Was Ryle's win over Simon Kenton an upset?
KY Outsider replied to Colonels_Wear_Blue's topic in KY Football (High School)
Ryle’s district is a bit more competitive than SK’s. Cooper and Conner are always up for the task. Just look at their game for 2nd in the district. -
SK made great adjustments at the half and caught the Raiders once making a substitution with a hurry up offense but Ryle(Chisholm) simply wore that defense down. It was well worth the admission and the concession money.
-
There goes SKs perfect season
-
Chisholm scores again!
-
Chisholm is a beast! Best player in the state!
-
Yes, this shouldn’t be considered upset worthy. Ryle prepares for this time of year by scheduling tough games earlier on. SK looks like a deer in the headlights because everyone assumes they are a state power which they aren’t.

How many schools are playing multiple sophomores on their freshman teams? I know it's just developmental but why wouldn't they just do JV at that point?
-
I agree, 4 classes and make schools actually have to qualify for the playoffs. You would then take those blowout first round games out of the mix and not risk injuries in games that are not competitive.

Sophomores playing Freshman games
KY Outsider replied to KY Outsider's topic in KY Football (High School)
I can understand at smaller schools but would think 4A and larger should stick to just freshmen. I have also heard of schools playing seniors in JV games and I think that is just taking away from developing underclassmen. -

Is it acceptable for sophomores to play in freshman football games?
