Sophomores playing Freshman games

Featured Replies

Is it acceptable for sophomores to play in freshman football games?

If the teams agree to it. I have seen it done more than a few times in the past few years. A lot of teams are now playing froshmore games where the teams are a mixture of freshmen and sophomores.

Afraid with the health issues, fewer players will possibly be joining high school football on even the larger class teams. This will create more schools playing froshmore games.

I can understand at smaller schools but would think 4A and larger should stick to just freshmen.

I have also heard of schools playing seniors in JV games and I think that is just taking away from developing underclassmen.

It is often the choice of playing sophomores in freshman games, or, not playing freshman games at all.

The class you play in may not mean anything. Gotta have the numbers. Lace em up and play. Scores don't matter in Jv/Freshman games. Make them better and get them time against other teams.
