Also looks like someone needs an ego boost. Only one of two reasons to beat a team like that, you hate the other coach or you have to beat kids down to make yourself feel better. Was 60-7 not good enough, trying to beat them by 100. Team that do this I love it when they play the PRP and Ballards and get killed.

according to JCPS job site Waggener, JTown, Seneca and Moore are all open. Jefferson County Public Schools, Louisville, Kentucky

They have three players mentioned who were not on the KHSAA roster last year. G Joseph McNair (6-0, Sr.) G Duncan Barber (6-0, Jr.) F Daythan Greathouse (6-4, Jr.).

This happened a few years ago, Beth Haven some how got a kid who played maybe even started for PRP. He transfered in his Sr. year to Beth Haven and played. They loaded up with 2 or 3 transfers that year. 2011/12 I think.

I'm hearing he got a few transfers in that will help the depth and athleticism of this team immediately. Should be interesting if they are allowed to play. All but one are coming from public schools to a private. I have no idea how many played varsity or even their names. This could also have a huge shake up in a district with 3/4 teams fighting for second behind PRP.

great job. I only see a few things I would change as fare as ranking. Fairdale lost everything and is going to struggle a lot. I would have Iroquois a head of them. Also I'm hearing Beth Haven has about 3 to 4 transfers That will make his team look completely different if they are ruled eligible. This region is wide open and should see a lot of teams beating each other.

The problem is outside of tournaments and scouting coaches don't have time to watch other teams. If you are in Louisville you have no clue about most 1st and 16th region teams and same goes for all the other regions. They do not know if a JV team was good and that group is coming up so they just have to go by word of mouth and go on who was good the year before. Makes it hard for preseason rankings.

You might be right it is hard to change a losing culture. Shawnee has a lot to over come. I thought Seneca would be better than they were last year, if they upset Waggoner that would be huge blow to Waggoner trying to become one of the 7th region elite next year will be the year Waggoner could win the 7th, but needs 20 wins and not to get blown out by Ballard and trinity.

I think the top 7 teams are spot on there maybe some shuffling between 2-7 but they will all be in the region. Trinity Waggener Eastern Ballard Male St. X Manual The last spot could be a surprise I think Shawnee could be a dark horse and the final spot will come down between them and central. This year’s Shawnee team is very Sr. heavy 8 or 9 of them. New coach will determine a lot for them. I would change up the bottom of the region a little bit. 8. KCD- Very good team just stuck in district with two top 20 teams in the state. 9. Central- If Wells can play will determine a lot for this group 10. Shawnee- Sr. loaded team who won some games on the JV level can it translate 11. Seneca- One of the best players in the region is there anything else to help him out 12. CAL- New coach how will players respond, he did well at Whitefield 13. Atherton- New coach I think they will be better how long will it take 14. Brown- New coach I think they will come up from the bottom group 15. Collegiate- struggled last year but year two in system. 16. St. Francis- If the three freshman stayed they will compete with bottom of region and in all A 17. Portland Christian- 18.. Walden-

Brown lost 6 of its top 9 players to graduation or transfers. They will be very young and have a new coach; a long time assistant at Holy Cross and Waggener. He did a good job at both places. If they play like they did this summer, in Derick Smith shootout, will be at a fast pace both offensively and defensively. They have to get past Male or St. X to get out of district, I do not see that happening.

With the transfer of Bell a three year starter at PG, Butler is going to take a big hit. They are also in the toughest district in the state with Doss, Desales, Western, Iroquois and Butler. Coming off a 10-16 season they do return a lot of experience players do depend on. Always a talented team and will continue to play fast pressing style. I think if they can get some good guard play which they always seem to have at butler they will be able to compete.

As always central will play very aggressive on defense. Their back court did receive a boost with Waggener PG Brandon Wells transferring in. Not a ton of size and will be guard heavy. Will make it out of districts but could be the year Shawnee and their 9 Sr. over takes them.

Can teams from the KCSAA play KHSAA teams? I am not familuar with the rules at all and am just courious.

Might be the most talented team in the region, Grey now steps into a leadership role? The biggest question is how the team will respond to a coaching change. Former UofL and Doss Alumni take over after a small stint at St. Francis. Most coaching changes go one of two ways everyone buys in and they have a great season, or the seniors resist the change and it goes downhill. They have enough talent to make it to Rupp. Should be the favorite to win the region.

All the scoring will go through Chase Spillmen. The 6’5 shooter can provide matchup problems for a lot of teams. I see this team doing what Desales has always done play great half-court Defense and win games in the 40’s and 50’s.

I think Gaines played the 4/5 last year. PRP did have two kids 6'6 last year also. I don't think he was as big as Harris or Hunter. I could be mistaken.

Is there a legit post player in the region? It's a serious question.

Waggener is a little high, a team that lost 4 of its top 8 from last year 16 win team. The trinity game will be at least 20 points. I think Ballard is just being placed as 2nd because they are Ballard. Don't get me wrong they will still win 20 plus games but I just do not see any one beating Trinity this year. It's them and everyone else. I think Manual is the second best team, Great player is Sutton and really good coach in Just.

I agree I have seen some officials who just are not that good or are flat out disrespectful. will say things like "I don't tell you how to coach" will walk over and say "you got anything else you have to say" . never think they are wrong and just straight Argonaut. I have also seen coaches who complain about every call, and think no one makes a mistake.

I don't believe for one second that the big time schools who press will be called for hand checks. I have heard officials in the regions 6 and 7 say we can't call them all. so the teams will keeping doing it.
