The girl can flat out shoot it!!!!

I'm not sure Collins over Shelby County was that big of an upset, if an upset at all. They split during the regular season. I realize Shelby County had a better overall record but those can be deceiving sometimes as well. Sometimes certain players or teams are built up with all of the familia support on this site but when you get to watch in person they seem to be more of a paper tiger. Not saying this was the case for Shelby County though.

I'm not calling the 9th down. I think basketball in nky is some of the top in the state Can say that without hesitation. Anyone calling the 8th a pushover and the top 4 or 5 9th teams would walk thru the 8th just explains a lot of their understanding or lack of knowledge of basketball. Anderson county has proven to be one of the top teams in the state over the past several years. Shelby county has had treatment success over that same time period. As far as the 9th, It's not as balanced as some may hope. Ryle and Holmes has proved all year they are the two top teams and have separated themselves a little How do you believe homes toughest matchup Willaby against holy cross so they have to get by that game first. Outside of these to you have a pack that can contend which includes Notre Dame HC and Highlands. Any other team could pull off an upset but I cannot believe they can win the night. Most not region observers should be pulling for holy cross that will give me any of the teams a better chance at the Crown this year. Any other teams will have a hard time matching up with Holmes other than Ryle giving them fits with their height.

Actually they welcome teams to press them it actually plays in our favor. Difference is SK coaches aren't In The business of trying to destroy teams. The coaches actually work on developing their bench and working on game scenarios. Not trying to be holier than thou so don't take it that way. The games where you are pointing out similar scores. SK did not keep the throttle down but rather chose to play their bench for multitude of reasons I'm sure. In several comebacks by teams that made the score look decent it was often against 2 8th graders a freshmen one or 2 freshmen and a few sophomores. Great development and experience for players that may now be called upon in the post season.

Yes. But most recently Campbell county beat Ryle who barely beat Sk in the opening game at Ryle. SK beat Campbell county at Campbell so that must make them even or better than Ryle now? Lol. This could go on all day SK and highlands aren't on same playing level. Highlands is very good and can make some noise in the 9th but I think if you were at the game you would say the same. In fact, several coaches I guess scouting agreed with that assessment. SK clearly started holding the ball to soon and were focused on getting a milestone out of the way. All of that factored into a terrific comeback for Highlamds and in the end probably deserved to win. However, if SK kept their foot on the peddle then it wouldn't have come to what it did That said, I'm grateful it did because I think SK learned from their late game mistakes and hopefully will not have a repeat. They nearly did the same thing against Campbell cnty. They had a large late lead and started holding the ball which allowed Campbell to threaten to get back in it late. Difference was Highlamds made plays down the stretch and Campbell didn't I know you have a different opinion but were you even at the game?

Here is the thing that always leaves my head scratching. When you have teams have multiple players receive individual awards, i would think that team should be one of the favorites to at the very least win your region. If not, then it's an indictment saying they are not being coached very well or their fellow teammates aren't very good; or perhaps a coach that calls in favors on behalf of their players. Case in point, take kentuckys team last year and number of players to receive all SEC honors.

I will make a few minor changes 10th. Mason county 12th. Southwestern 13th. Harlan 16th. East Carter

When Harmeyer is shooting well it makes SK very dangerous. She is inconsistent and really needs to work on becoming a more consistent shooter and continue to impact the game defensively,rebounding etc... Needs to learn to drive more often and settle less on 3's. Gilliam and Buckner can also take this team to a whole new level if they stay aggressive on the offensive end. When Gilliam hits her outside shots sk seems to steam roll opponents. I also heard that Henry clay doubled down on Meier late in the game and Buckner hit a big 3 that really put sk in driver seat in later part of the game. When you have players do that then it's kind of pick your poison if you are the opposing team They did not have that threat in first part of year. I give sk coaches credit for allowing all the kids the green light offensively The biggest improvement I saw from sk the other night was ball movement. I understand they were equally as effective against Henry clay. Their defensive pressure has really picked up as well Good to see this at this time of year

I didn't get to attend the game but glad to hear Meier had a big game. Sounds like they finally decided to throw the ball in to her That might be sks biggest challenge on the offensive end and that is ball movement

I'm excited to see it at BBT as well and I hope that facility understands what a huge opportunity this is for them and the community. It's a great facility to watch games and I think all of the people in attendance will be thrilled with the facility. Except for Mason fans who still clam the Fieldhouse is better and there popcorn cant be touched. :popcorn: Yup! I went there. The 10th Region should be held at BBT every year. When you are fortunate enough to have such a nice facility you should take full advantage of it.

If they can't handle this event then they really need to rethink things internally. They have plenty of years to iron things out and it would be a shame and a blow to the arena if they aren't prepared to make things run smoothly. Great opportunity for the entire area

The SK and Mason Co game was very well called. I don't think either school said the refs took the game over and ruined it. Several eluded to some questionable calls in o.t. Myself included, but never stated that the game was ruined. I'll say again, that particular crew did an outstanding job and both teams played well. I fully expect 'questionable call's' as basketball is extremely difficult to officiate.

Very good point as I agree that the first few minutes of the game looked like it was going to be a run away. Everyone always focuses on the last critical possession but in reality they are all critical. The turnover at the beginning of the game is equally as important at the end. The positive is the team didn't fold and battled right back to take the lead and kept it for sometime

Thanks Maysvilleky. If she jumped from the front court then it was def. over and back. I also thought it was very well officiated and resulted in a good flow to the game. I can't argue to loudly regarding the two girls colliding. First, they were both going full speed and glad to here the Mason girl is ok. I can't say first hand the SK girl is but she finished the game and was walking around just find afterward. The second point is I just thought the refs should have called jump ball at worst on the collision. It happened so quickly but I thought the SK girl got to the ball first (very close though) and the impact resulted in loss of the ball out of bounds. That call aside. I would love to see these two teams go at it again. The best money I have spent this season for sure. Anyone that was thinking about going and decided not to missed and really good game.

Sumo what's your thoughts on the no foul collision? From my vantage no doubt a foul should have been called. I thought the crew was excellent and wished they called more of our games but that is one of the no calls you walk away scratchi g your head on. Happy that neither player got hurt

If you are saying she jumped from front court and landed in back court then that was the correct call. I simply did not see it

Omara did play a great game and hope both girls are ok. That was one call in ot I thought was a big call on the collision. And that was there was no call at all. I couldn't not believe as hard as the girls hit that 3 officials didn't make any call at all On the over and back, I didn't see where the sk girl was initially. I do know that she was in the back court when she caught the ball but didn't see whether or not she was initially in front court or back court. Of course, I've heard both so.....

Sumo I couldn't agree more. This was a terrific game and I thought both teams put on a show. Great game to watch and glad I was there to see it. The officiating crew did a fantastic job and I thought that allowed both teams to get into a flow. I know sk parents and coaching staff were upset over a few calls in o.t. The first being the over and back call against sk, I didn't see it so have no opinion but just curious if you saw that particular play. I think it was at a critical time. Would love to hear what you saw. I was listening to the am maysville radio station while at the game. Those guys did a terrific job and Fun to listen to them while watching the game.

Sk just can't seem to get a break. Emma jones and Morgan stamper out this game. I not sure if they have had a game full strength in more than a month. Having to constantly change their rotations for a young team has to hurt and slow their development as a team. It would be huge for them to pull out a win tonight. Good news is they are learning to play thru a lot of adversity

A few years ago they had made Meyer I remember them leading several games late and instead of looking for high percentage shots or taking advantage of the mismatch she had they simply kept shooting 3's. It just seemed to me that if they played smart they would have closed those games out

I've watched this coach for several years. I don't think he is playing to his strength as I have seen him with talented bigs and still fired up 3's like they were behind 20 with 2 min to go. In many instances when they were ahead.
