Sounds like the BOE should deal with the issue at Scott. Never ceases to amaze me. Deal with the sympton but not the sickness. Kids shouldn't be penalized for the BOE inability to keep their house clean. Parents (or whomever on here) shouldn't stir the pot regarding a 14?? yr old kid. Good grief. Let it work its way out without throwing rumors around.

Exec we must be talking about 2 different teams. The 8th grade team is not undersized and from talking with people, as I states earlier, they did run thru 4 or 5 d1 older teams in the Deep South. I think their only loss was to a fla team that took a d1 talent rich Alabama team to the wire. Not trying to be argumentative and correct me if what u was told was wrong. I've simply stated that legacy and shinning stars would be a great game as I have seen both play on short spurts. I also think shinning stars should be d1 I do disagree that their is a 100% across the board that d2 teams cannot compete with d1. Their are plenty of d2 teams that should be d1 and I'm sure vice Versa. Some bite off more than they can chew

Rcc9 you have me curious. I've watched a whole lot of basketball and while I respect your opinion. The facts don't hold true. Last year the shining stars teams lost by 4 to the div 1 champs. I also know the div 1 champs year prior from tn lost big to one of the top div 2 teams. Shining stars has beat a lot of highly ranked div 1 teams from my understanding and finished in top four in Deep South against a year older div 1 teams. The defending div 2 national champs from Boston are playing div 1 with the same roster. So will see how they do. With that said. I'm wondering why shining stars is playing div 2. They have proven themselves good enough to play div 1 and be more than competitive. Nothing irks me more than to have teams play down. I'm not a fan of that at all but to say they aren't good enough is not even close. Try again. And this coming from someone who doesn't have an interest either way. Just trying to lay out the facts.

Have these two teams played each other? I have scene both play, not entire games, and they look very even. A friend said they haven't played which is a shame. They both played in the Deep South with shining doing better finishing top four in their bracket. Legacy lost their first and won the consolation bracket? Then legacy won the state I'm assuming shinning stars lost somewhere in their.

If that is true then SK is really loading up. She is a really nice athlete to go along with the girls they have coming up. That will hurt Scott Soccer and Track programs as well. Not sure Scott cares that much as evidenced by the efforts they have put in their girls programs over the years but she is already one of their top athletes in those sports. Would have added some much needed help with their basketball team too. Way too many girls leaving that program. Scott really needs to look into that issue.

Interesting comments about this play. The officials clearly had a very tough situation to handle. However, as far as the rules go.... they should be inforced from first tip to end of game regardless of situation. Lane violation is a lane violation etc.... While I don't envy the officials at all and really do admire the stripes that take on this very daunting task. They had time to collect themselves and go thru their mechanics during the time out. They should be very aware of everyone trying to get an edge. Bottom line, is they should have been on top of this one and can't let the rules break down in the heat of the moment. Its not often in basketball that officials have a pause to get set during the most pivotal moment of a basketball game.

First, I really wasn't trying to start this but looking back I guess I could have worded things differently... or better yet, not of even posted. I do not have a kid in the school as mine have already passed that point in their lives. Just a fan bouncing around watching some games. To answer your question... the record is posted below so after what I watched I was just curious and pulled this up. What I really questioned were the quality of wins overall. I personally wasn't a fan of what I saw from an execution stand point on the floor so that is what prompted my message I guess 13-14 15-11-0 12-13 17-11-0 11-12 4-29-0 10-11 9-18-0 09-10 21-9-0 08-09 10-19-0 07-08 11-18-0 06-07 9-19-0 Winning records over this span... in order... minimum of 3 games. Calvary Christian, Harrison County, Silver Grove, Dixie (6-6), Dayton, Bracken County and Cooper (4-3), Ludlow, Pendelton County and Holmes (3-3). A number of these are small schools. With that said, I'm out of this conversation as it def. turned in a direction unintended. I was curious what individuals thought of this program and I think I have my answer. Best if luck to the girls and coaches.

Just looked up her prior records and it is not impressive at all. The few wins Scott has acquired over the years look like they are against smaller schools than Scott. I know someone previously said the parents care but they need to voice their opinions because it looks like the administration is comfortable with their past. I say that not knowing, maybe their is some goals set them with their coach. Just curious, does this become a title IX issue when you accept a less than stellar program? I do not know title IX that well but I assume the spirit of the rule is to offer girls the same opportunity to succeed as they do boys.

I've often wondered how the fans and parents at Scott felt about their girls program. Not a very strong resume over the years and they seem to have talent in the pipeline but they never realize their potential. Does Scott really care about girls athletics?

I have watched many girls games this year and I think SK is doing a fine job of integrating the young girls. I have watched Scott and they have several young girls playing. One is ready but the other three aren't even close to being ready. May explain all the issues Scott has in their girls program and why they have only had one winning season in 7? SK seems to have it down from what I have watched
