I guess that's a bad thing. :jump: I also don't know how to pick up quotes and re-post them and I'm apparently not interested in learning or I would try to figure it out. OK.... back to topic. When you say 'program'. I've got to assume this entire thread is about the Varsity Girls teams. If that is the case, then aren't we talking about that particular team. Call it program, regional team or whatever, we are talking specifically about the girls varsity team. When referencing the girls varsity team. That is comprised of the kids. Therefore that is who this is about. Follow? I believe you reference how SK 'hand checks a lot on defense' something to that effect. You teach that? I sure don't because a good crew will eat my team up. I also don't view those comments as positive as I take that in a negative view as I believe that is how you presented it. I also don't have a problem with physical play as long as its not dirty with bad intentions. The rest of my comments is not worth my time going back thru multiple threads etc... This year you have had a lot to say about this group and how they play and even where they compare to the rest in NKY etc... My whole point is you haven't even seen them play. Have you even seen them on tape? Throw me a bone here so I can find some credibility with your comments. That's all I'm saying. If you haven't seen them then say what most say on here. I'm not sure I can answer that as I haven't seen either team. Your Highlands team is a very solid team and you should be proud. I'm just not a believer in cutting others (not saying you are here) down so I look bigger. There can be 5+ top teams in NKY and I think that's awesome.

Not on it. Your post further proves my point. You have multiple comments on your last post about this years team that you haven't even seen. Maybe you don't recognize it. Admitting you have a problem is the first step to recovery. I'm really not trying to pick a fight but i do find it so humorous how people make assumptions or 'in general' comments about teams they have never seen. As you say, many other comments were made about this years team and how this is an entirely different team due to the loss of 7 or 8 seniors. But somehow they are the same team when its convenient. Nope, this team is not physical enough and needs more on ball pressure. That's the fact, see how your comments on hand checking and physical play is off base. That is the point "I'm on".

So I was right. Zero times. All the other statements are a smoke screen for zero. I bring this up because you have a lot to say about this team but you have never seen them. Seeing and knowing a few individuals is different from seeing the collective. This years team is entirely different from last year so making comments from what you observed in the past is a little presumptuous. Now to others claiming to know so much about sk defense. I couldn't disagree more. The defense has been non-existent the past few weeks and they actually need to be more physical. To borrow from coach cal when his team complained about the physicality of the other team ". ....then you need to sit because you aren't ready for this level...." I think the impetuous for this comment is trying to prepare his team for tourney time when it does get a little rougher. Sk doesn't hold girls or keep their hands all over their player like you want everyone to think. Now for physical play, how about Meir having girls pushing a knee into her when posting, two hands literally pushing her when posting or shooting etc? Isn't that a point of emphasis this year? No bent elbows with forearms, not even one hand on post player? So... If a ref is doing their job, the perimeter defensive player will be called for a foul as soon as they extend their hand to touch the offensive player and the same would be said for post play. Would be nice if called that way.

What are the keys for each teams success?

Not one of my favorite games to watch. Both teams were sloppy in my opinion Scott has a chance to do well in 10th but they have a lot to clean up

Missing players certainly impacts a teams chemistry no doubt! As I stated previously, NCC players make plays and their coaches do a tremendous job with their offensive sets to get players open to be successful. However, I'm not sure having the other three players would have helped much on the offensive end when your shooting something like 11 for 13/14 attempts???? from 3 point range. Very impressive shooting performance. I think SK's defense allowed the shots but NCC knocked them down. I'm not sure that's the exact number for 3's but its pretty close. Either way, what a shooting performance! I'm surprised SK was in the game with a team shooting that well, much less squeak out the victory.

Does anyone know the field goal percentage for 3's NCC shot? It had to be way up there. Pretty impressive for SK to pull this one out with NCC shooting the way they did. Kudo's to NCC, their players made some very nice plays and their coaching staff really uses an offense that fits their team well.

How many 3's did ncc hit and what was there 3 point shooting percentage. I was told they but over 10 3's and only missed a couple Wow!

Here we go..... Classic over-reaction. If I'm putting your birds down so bad you must really dislike the rest of NKY teams. I simply place them 4th and its the worst put down of all time. Well if that is a put down you really think all the other teams are that bad? That's what your reaction says. See how that works? Keep twisting things to your benefit.

I said I wasn't trying to be argumentative but that may be the only way you know how to communicate. Yes... records do matter. Ask ND, I think they have excellent talent but I have a hard time putting them in the top 10 because they just don't seem to be able to get over the hump. Contrary to that comment, I do believe if Elizabethtown was sitting with 6 losses I would vote them no. 1 given the competition they have played. Yes, I have seen Highlands play and they are very solid. As are HC and Holmes and SK. You are the one placing a team (SK) out of the mix and and have the blinders on. I think SK easily deserves to be ranked above Highlands and fortunately they do play one another. I also believe HC is better than SK and they have a few more losses than them. See how that works? and I don't even use explanation points!!!!!!! oops... just did. And where was I putting down HHS???? I really enjoy watching you overreact to simple dialogue.

I'm not sure I can agree with you RCC9. I think there is a lot of support, deservedly so, behind the 3 H's. However, with Highlands now losing to the other two, they have to drop below SK at this point. NO.... I'm not an SK die-hard just a supporter of a friend. They are 19 - 1 and also deserve the recognition to move up at this point. They have beat Ryle, Boone and ND (teams in your list above) so I'm not sure how you say " ....could beat any of those teams". SK beat Ryle by 30, Boone very handily and ND was close but early in the year when SK was still trying to discover who they were. I'm not sure I really follow your logic. I'm not trying to start an argument but I am just saying that's the way polls work not matter how bad you want your team to not move down. I'm shocked that you would drop highlands to 6th. 3. Sk 4. Ryle 5. NCC 6. Highlands ???? Ok. I'm assuming you misread the polls. How far do you drop highlands with the two recent losses?

Are you saying Ryle and NCC should be 4th and 5th?

I stand corrected. I believe there are 4 juniors on the varsity team?? They may be in that top 8 or 9 rotation from time to time given the opponent or teams needs at that point in time. They recently started dressing one out for varsity in the past few weeks as she is coming back from a knee injury last season and can help the team quiet a bit. They are all good ball players but it may be more of a testament to the younger girls.

I know their is a lot of banter of how good this team is and how good that team is. I can tell you one thing that I have observed, SK is very very young with two Sr.'s that are showing tremendous leadership for all the youngsters. Out of their top 8 rotation they have 4 frosh, 2 soph and 2 Sr. This is on a team that has only lost one game. They started the season as you would expect, trying to find their roles within the team. They showed tremendous improvement but stepped back a little at about the mid-way point. I think they are now starting to find their stride again. This team is not flashy, doesn't overwhelm you with a lot of spectacular plays but if you play them you better show up because they will play you hard for 32 minutes. I would call them more of a blue collar team. WV and Grant played them early in the year and they were good games. When SK went to their Christmas tournaments they seemed to find themselves. I think this was in reality what happened the second time around with Grant and WV. They found and entirely different SK team than they faced the first time around. Our line-up rotation changed, and solidified. One of our freshman may not have even dressed varsity the first time the teams played. The girls just seemed to better understand their roles. This team is very good. Are they the best in the state? No. But if any team shows up thinking they are going to overwhelm SK they may be in for a little surprise. It will be fun to watch this group grow and hopefully the Sr's can keep leading the way. Hopefully, the youngsters can keep ego's in check and keep focused on team vs. me. If these things fall into place, I don't see how SK is not the favorite to win the 8th Region and not considered a favorite to win the NKAC or to be right in the middle of it in the end.

I think the emphasis is too much toward playing one sport not the other way around. Of course, the one sport has to be played year around. I do agree with you regarding what these kids are going to remember when they grow up. Not to mention how sick they may be of the sport the played for 10+ years and well over 1000 games. Some parents are going to regret not having those family memory's. I also worry about the wear and tear on their bodies

All I can say is that it was nice seeing that large of a crowd supporting the girls!!! Kudos to everyone in attendance. Hopefully, we will see similar crowds at future games.

Dixie can only go as far as their guards take them. If they take care of the ball they can be a dangerous team.

Agree! should be a great game. I think this comes down to Campbell County transition defense and whether or not they guard the 3 point line. I think Campbell will get their points but if they give the Eagles the easy run outs and let them shoot open 3's then I would pick the Eagles to win.
