  6. The differences are not only in the sports arena........................Its laughable to even compare the two (magnet schools and semi private) not included
  7. Imagine if we start having charter schools............... (legalized cheating)
  8. Public schools have been saying this for years.
  9. Is it just me, or is Cov Cath lurking in the shadows...............again
  10. Thanks to LB for sharing. Congrats to Cordia.............And a shout out to the Owen County fan base.........Rebel nation was in the house........
  11. Teams can schedule them in regular season games. I meant that they are not elgibles for khsaa sanctioned post season tourneys. The ALL A is not sanctioned by khsaa and therefore is just basic regular season play as far as they are concerned.
  12. The ALL A is not a khsaa sanctioned event....Would this be a topic if Cordia had lost in the 2nd or 3rd round of tourney.......Many small public schools feel yhis exact way about private schools in general..........It is what it is......Cordia cannot play in khsaa sanctioned events (as far as I am aware)........3 of the players mentioned above were at Cordia as 8th graders (2 not). Still dont hate the playa....hate the game.
  13. What started out as an invitational tournament at Dayton HS (I think) back in the 80's has grown into an entity that covers sports teams in softball, baseball, soccer and basketball possibly more. I think now the smallest 120 schools in the state now qualify, but can opt out leaving the door open for some larger schools to enter (could be wrong about that). Irregardless, it is a great stage for many schools who may not have a reasonable chance at going to other state tournaments. The ALL A more importantly provides scholarship opportunities for the students of the schools that participate. I dont think it was enisioned to be as big as it is now, but it is a win-win situation for participating schools and their students. Thx Stan......your the man
  14. Met coach Flener a couple years ago through a mutual friend. Obviously has been very successful in his coaching stints, but he is just a very solid person. Congrats to him and his team.
  15. No dog in the fight,,,,,,,lots of good players on the floor this weekend.......If I could take 3 players home with me, I would definitely take the New cath big, Williams from Owen and the Perry kid. Wont see any of them sunday, but they are ballers.
  16. Poor wording on my part..........Lets just say that open gym and open field are completely different animals.........
  17. Just another attempt at making football more like basketball....Just take the top 2 teams per district and move on.........The only thing that basketball has that football wants is the ability to get the balls out sooner.............Basketball can keep their playoff format to themselves for eternity.
  18. Interesting conversations...........and in reality they all point to dumping this 6 class cluster............Going back to 4 classes (creating more schools per class, larger districts with natural rivals, much less class jumping)...........seems like an easy fix......................................................but will not happen!
  19. I really miss the old days in the cracker box. JMO
  20. Needless to say, it does not occur often, But it has happened to multiple communities since the change to 6 classes
  21. Havent had to do it much...........I guess:popcorn:
  22. Did Norris Beckley, and Arthur "Pee Wee" Sullivan both attend Morehead State? 2 more tremendous players
  23. Both coaches have championship backgrounds either as a player or coach.........None of the players in this game have any championship game experience......I would expect a great game and nothing less:popcorn:
  24. Lots of good coaches are hated...............and it will continue:popcorn:
  25. Great year staff and players. Kudos to this bunch of seniors (16 in all)
